Questions & Answers

do I use the Howe tube on one cat if so do I put it all in the same spot yes or no

Answer by ChewyMay 24, 2019
The entire tube should be used on one cat. Prior to application of the product, gently lift the cat's or kitten's hair coat on the back of the neck at the base of the skull, position the tip of the tube on cat's exposed skin and squeeze out the entire contents of the tube onto the cat's skin.

How long will it take to start killing fleas?

Answer by ChewyAug 03, 2021
The UltraGuard Flea & Tick Spot Treatment for Cats is used to kill fleas and deer ticks. To prevent future infestations for up to 30 days, it stops only the adult fleas and the product also repels mosquitos. The product does not repel adult fleas from jumping on your pet and the product does take some time to breakdown these fleas. If you are seeing adults fleas reappearing on your cat, we recommend two solutions, treating the surrounding environment and flea combing. Treating your home and yard will breakdown fleas before they have a chance to land on your pet. If they do happen to get to your pet, they will eventually die once they come into contact with the product. If you would like to stop this more quickly, flea combing your cat and then placing the fleas in a water and Dawn dish detergent solution is one of the quickest ways. With each flea caught and placed in the water, wipe the comb clean and then comb through the cat again.

How long does it take for this to dry?

Answer by ChewyApr 29, 2020
The length of time it takes the treatment to fully dry will vary.

Will this make your cat drool if they ingest by licking application area

Answer by ChewyMar 04, 2021
This treatment has a bitter taste, oral exposure could result in salivation. Be careful not to get any product in the cats mouth while applying.

Well, the infestation went from "rapidly growing" to "steady colony size" with this flea medication. it did NOT remove the fleas my cat already had, and it did not last an entire month. After 2 weeks it started to get out of control again so i had to apply A SECOND DOSE last moth. Does not do as advertized. Waste of money. Just get the PetArmor Flea And Tick Spot Treatment. That ACTUALLY killed all the fleas on the FIRST application.

Super low price is so nice, but it’s low for a reason. On 4/5 cats it created a scab the first application. I decided to try it again. On the second months application, it created a visible dusty film on one cats fur, two of my cats lost fur, and one of them just looks completely miserable and has been very irritated from this. Some cats may be less sensitive and you could probably get away with it, but with it hurting others it shows how chemically bad it is overall so I’ll switch over to the other one I used.

I applied to all my cats at once as well as cleaned their linens and vacuumed. I also sprayed treatment around my house. My cats do not get outside. They are still itching and biting. My girl, Anabel is experiencing flea allergies and has been breaking out all over with bumps and scabs. We need something that works, not a waste of money. Do not waste your time, get name branded stuff.

please do not use. this almost killed my precious fur baby. within 15 minutes he was crying in pain, loss control of bodily fluids, running around, drooling, panting, shaking and sneezing. his fur started to come off and i realized that the smell intensely lingered around my apartment. i called the vet and they said to wash off with dawn dish soap and warm dish rag. i did that immediately and he seemed to still be out of sorts but not in pain anymore and hours later now he’s finally almost back to normal but that was so scary. if you love your animals please don’t use this.

TERRIBLE!!

My 1yr old cat ended up in the emergency room after I applied this medication. She had super fast pace breathing and tremors!! She had to be hospitalized for 24hrs!

My 1yr old cat ended up in the emergency room after I applied this medication. She had super fast pace breathing and tremors!! She had to be hospitalized for 24hrs! She had to be sedated and medicated as well due to this medication. This medication may be less than $10, but it's not worth it when you'll have to spend over $1000 for an emergency vet appointment!!!!

I don't know what you guys need to do but busted open packages is not acceptable. The products bought from CHEWY are not cheap most of the time. My $30/$40 little items in with the catfood box were on my front steps bc th box was busted. THIS WILL STOP ME FROM ORDERING FROM CHEWY. I've ordered cat food from other places and this is by far the worst shipping. The very few dollars I save with chewy isn't worth it. If my orders continue to arrive in poor conditions I WILL TAKE MY BUISNESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. I mean come on, you know what your shipping, right? Heavy cat food/litter!!! YOU NEED TO DO AND BE BETTER! WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU CRAM 2 30LBS BAGS OF CAT FOOD IN ONE BOX. THIS IS POOR JUDGMENT ON SHIPPING, THIS IS ON CHEWY! BE BETTER! YOUR CUSTOMERS SPEND A LOT OF MONEY FOR YOU TO TREAT THEIR ORDER LIKE THAT. IT SCREAMS THAT CHEWY DOESNT CARE! Treating my order poorly is treating me poorly! I will not pay you to disrespect me again.

A feral cat farm

Living out in the country, I have a couple of feral cats that visit my porch to eat my cat food. I treat my cats with this to protect them from passerby’s.

This product did not work for my outside cats. I thought I would try to save some money and go for the cheaper option, but my cats ended up with fleas. It has not been worth the savings; as my cats are now covered in fleas and have needed additional treatment in order to get rid of them. looking for a refund!!
