How can I tell which size is good for my German Shepherd?
Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2019
To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's neck girth (circumference) and compare with the size chart. To measure the neck girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the neck. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size.

How do you get the loops to go through each other
Answer by ChewyJul 22, 2019
To put a chain collar on your dog, hold one of the chain’s end rings and push the chain through the ring. You have now formed the straight chain into a loop circle with both end rings touching. Put the collar in front of the dog so it looks like a horizontal 'P.' Place the resulting loop around your dog’s head. Attach a leash to the ring that does not have the collar sliding through it.

Is it tip to tip or inside chain length?
Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2019
Measurements are made from the end of one ring to the end of another ring.

on the slip collar are you measuring with the small rings only or do you measure the length using the two big rings as well
Answer by ChewyJun 29, 2019
The measurement also includes the additional length of the two O-rings.

Check the chain thickness

One word: Disappointed. I ordered this collar with the hope it could replace my previous slip chain which has a nice fine/tight link to it. This is not it. Links and huge! It will do it’s job and is not too heavy but, wanted a much thinner collar.

Measure twice

Great quality. Recommend go up a size because I believe 2" does count for the rings as other reviewers mentioned. Also measure your dogs head to ensure it does slip over.

Does the job

The links seem a little lightweight but it works just fine. I wish I didn't have to use a slip collar, but with a harness, when she doesn't want to move, I can't budge her.

Pay the extra money

Slips nicely for corrections. Learning from a train on how to use correctly for training only.

Fantastic Dog Collar stops Terrible Puller

This collar stopped our Australian Cattle Dog from pulling. She really needed something to make her see reason. Now she is well behaved on the trail or just walking down the street

Quality slip chain

We needed a slip collar for an obedience class we enrolled our Doberman in. We had ordered one on another site, it arrived but was poorly constructed with flat rings and a flat chain-there was no release of the chain after correction. We know that these items are difficult to find. We found what looked like a good one on Chewy, ordered it. It works perfectly, is a heavy rounded stainless chain with 2 large round rings. It arrived quickly.

Sprenger Training collar

Have used Sprenger collars for years for training and showing. German quality! They work, slide properly (if put it on the dog correctly) and they don't break.
