The Formula Has CHANGED
By IBDDOG on Dec 5, 2020
Just letting everyone know that this formula has changed and now contains potentially less protein (13 vs 14%min.), twice as much fiber (6 vs 3% max..), coconut oil instead of pork fat, a new to the food emulsifier called glyceryl monostearate, as well as other changes to the order of ingredients. The fact that this food has changed is not even announced on the Hills website, which I find to be a disservice. There is a large red banner on the bag announcing the change, which is great, but if people don’t know beforehand they may not have enough of the original formula left to properly transition. I’m posting a photo of the new ingredient label.

Formula change
By LabMom on Dec 15, 2020
Very upset to see that the formula has changed for this product. My pup has been on this food for over 3 years and has done so well. I do not understand why the company made so many changes. There is significantly more fiber, a change in the fat source and several other modifications. The customer service rep for Hill’s seemed fairly uninformed about all of the changes. I don’t understand why the company didn’t just create a different type of food rather than altering an already solid product. Hoping the company will go back to the previous formulation.

It's different
By Jhyson60 on Dec 13, 2020
My dog ate this food for at least 5 yrs for her frequent ear infections. We just received a new bag about a week ago & she will NOT touch it, no matter what we do to it. We noticed when we first opened the bag, the bits were smaller. Apparently, that's not all that's changed. We've done everything we could to make sure it was actually the food & not my dog. It's the food. Won't be buying anymore.

Our Dog Loves This Food
By Michael on Nov 29, 2020
Our dog recently was diagnosed with a chicken allergy and our vet recommended this food. She is a super picky eater and it took a few days for her to acclimate to the new food but once she did, she now loves it! She has a lot better appetite and energy levels as well as solid poops........such a great change after suffering so long from an unknown food allergy.

Finally a food he likes
By Rocky on Nov 28, 2020
My dog has food allergies after his biopsies and found this out this is his eighth food trial and this seems to be very tasty his stool is solid now and he seems to like it. He’s a 16 month old German Shepherd and has had problems all his life with food I hope this works it seems to be doing the job.

Zoe is better with this food
By Bonnie on Jan 5, 2021
It’s helped our Zoe who had a tough time after diagnosed with IBD and allergies. (Zoe is a 5 year old rescue from Georgia who sings Home on the Range!)

Just didn't like it
By Gremi on Oct 23, 2020
I'm sure this is a great quality food. Unfortunately my pup didn't like it and wouldn't eat it. I wish these companies would offer smaller sizes to try so customers wouldn't spend so much money for a product that cannot be used.

Hill's Venison + Potato food for Dogs with Skin Allergies
By Superfood on Jul 24, 2020
My dog was diagnosed with an undetermined skin condition and the dog dermatologist recommended to switch his food this Hill's special food. I freaked out because it is so expensive; however, in two weeks, his allergies are slowly disappearing. You have to be very strict. I never thought we would be able to get his condition under control. This food works!

Wish I had never bought it.
By charliebear on Jun 9, 2020
This food was recommended by my vet due to my Lab having allergies which he said could possibly be food allergies. It has made absolutely no difference to my Labs chewing/licking his paws or his ear problems and this food definitely does not satisfy him hes a quite a skinny lab and I dont think he was getting enough nutrition from this food as his normal energy level has dropped also. My other dog had started to get tummy issues and since having her on this food she seems to be quite constipated, lack of energy and her fur has actually started to drop out in clumps, she had previously no fur issues at all. Could be the food or not, certainly.....but I definitely would NOT recommend.

Vet prescribed only reason I’m buying it
By StarMom on Jul 24, 2020
My dog is recovering from liver toxicity and is also grain intolerant. The vet recommended this and this was what they fed him in hospital. He doesn’t care for the flavor much. So when he’s well, I won’t be continuing this food.
