I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state?
Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?

Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.

How many cups are in the 25lb bag?
Answer by • Jul 09, 2022
There is approximately 100 cups of kibble in the 25 pound bag.
My bag doesn't have the urinary shield on it. Does this food also help dissolve the struvite Crystal's?
Answer by • Apr 24, 2022
This variety does not address struvite or other types of crystals. It is specially formulated to support a dog's food sensitivities.
My cocker spaniel has severe skin allergies so I'm trying this prescription diet and she loves it, but have only been feeding her for about a week without her old food mixed in, so not sure how good it's working yet. She's still scratching, but hopefully that will stop or at least get not so bad with this new diet.

tried And didn’t like
Was told by vet to give it a try since my boxer has bad seasonal
Allergies. He has been on raw diet which he enjoys but was looking for something to help with skin. I gradually added to his raw and he ate and seemed to take to it. But by week 3 doesn’t want it I tried 50/50 75/25 etc. he would eat raw and leave or spit out the kibble and when I crushed the kibble on the raw he lick it and leave it . Im not saying it’s not a good product. But if ur transitioning maybe buy the small bag just in case. I bought big one and now left with half a bag.

He has stopped itching
My Chihuahua has had really bad itching for the past 3 years. He also has a very tender stomach. We tried Hills Science diet (skin and sensitive stomach), and several Hills Prescription diet foods; Derm Çomplete, z/d and didn't notice any improvement.
Then we tried the d/d and he loves the flavors and after a few weeks, we noticed he is hardly itching at all! He likes the duck as well as the salmon flavor, and licks the bowl clean every meal.
