My cat and her kidneys like it!

This food was recommended by her vet after she had to have surgery to remove 2 pesky bladder stones. She can't get enough of this food, which is really important since she is not allowed any other kind of food! It seems pricey, but definitely cheaper than dealing with another stone. We have only tried the fish flavor so far...nice to know there is another flavor if we need to switch it up. There's also a wet food option.

This must be tasty!

My 18 year old kitty has been on various "diet foods" due to bladder and kidney problems. Many he didn't like, but we hit the jackpot with this one! He happily munches his way thru his bowl when it contains this k/d dry food in it. This is a great relief to his 'Mom'! And being a Chewy customer makes it so easy and quick to have this food on hand!!

Prescribed by vet but cats say it's so-so

It's good for their kidneys but they're not especially keen on it. Tried them with the pate version and both opted for the kibble so at least I know it's better than the alternative but, they'd much rather have dessert.

New kd cat

Kitty is transitioning to her last diet. She has always loved dry food but all of a sudden had a lot of trouble eating it. She didn’t like the chicken kd dry cat flavor. She likes this one better but still has trouble with hard kibbles. I take a little bit of the food and put in her bowl with some warm water and wait 10-15 minutes before serving it to her. It is much softer then and she’s able to eat some of it. Don’t leave the mushy dry food out all day though- make your kitty a new batch 2-3 times a day depending on feeding frequency so it is fresh. My kitty doesn’t eat too much so I make very small batches at a time and supplement with the canned kd stew flavors.

FABULOUS! cat loves it

unfortunately, my cat just got diagnosed with kidney failure, so she has to change foods. I haven't found a wet food that she will stick with - but this dry food has been a constant craving for her. She LOVES IT!

Finally found something my cats love

I have two cats with early renal disease. It has been a struggle to find a renal diet they will eat, either wet or dry. Inadvertently tried the Hill’s kd dry in the ocean fish flavor because the chicken was out of stock. They love it. They are both eating well now. Still hoping for a wet diet that is as well accepted.

Good Food for Cats

I had one of my cats that I gave her the kidney food. She didn't like it. My other just got kidney disease and she didn't like it at first. I tried the soft tuna and she liked it. I just tried the dry oceanfish on her and she like it very much.

A good dry food

Sadly, we recently learned our kitty had to eat only kidney diet food. This has same size pieces as what she was used to, & best is she seems to like it. Had no problem with transitioning to.

k/d kidney

My cat really does not like it but has to have it for her kidney function. She did not like the canned k/d but is eating some of the hard k/d. I get other chewy product and they are great!!! I even use their pharmacy for my other cat who has diabetes and now cat #2 blood pressure med. Cost effective.

picky cat favorite

My chicken averse diabetic cat loves this one. After trying 4 other bank busting specialty renal food options, I found a fish based winner. Thank you, Hills!
