It looks and smells good... my cat is eating it without much of a fuss. I add a little water to make it a little creamier as he used to prefer the catfoods that had a lot of gravy.... occasionally If he gets bored with the K/D food... I add a tablespoon of his preferred Friskies Shreds food. TG he is still doing well at 16 years

bought this expensive food based on vet recommendation. i wish it was available in smaller amounts than 24 cans because the cat HATES it. i tried mixing it with the wet food he likes, bonito flakes, or even a churu treat. nope, he figuratively turns up his nose after a few bites and takes himself off to another room. this food is only effective if the cat can be persuaded to eat it.

Our poor elder kitty has been recently diagnosed with Kidney Disease. She would barely touch any food we tried to give her. Vet recommended this and now she licks the bowl clean! 10/10 would recommend for your feline pal with kidney problems. Chewy also has made delivery seamless! Have to keep this on auto order, and had SOOO many issues getting it from pet co. No issues at all so far with Chewy, they are very reliable :)

Mr. Picky loved it

Marchello has always been very selective on his food. I was concerned when I was told his blood results, although stable still showed possible kidney issues.

Marchello has always been very selective on his food. I was concerned when I was told his blood results, although stable still showed possible kidney issues. Incorporating special food would be be beneficial. My first concern was whether he would eat it but it was the first food he had upon return home from dental surgery. He ate the entire can withing ten minutes. One meal a day includes his prescription food and the rest, although OTC, has been selected for phosphorus levels and other ingredients that are close to prescription. Most are OTC appropriate Hills food. I seriously doubt this food would be an issue for anyone.

I'm not a cat. I'm seriously not Paris. Still trying to get her to eat a lick. Nothing. It must smell wrong to her. Today she took ONE lick, gobbled the dry food, drank some water and promptly threw up. And, lucky me, I was barefoot and stepped in it. Thank God she don't have kidney issues, just aging kidneys. I'll see if my neighbor can use it.

I ordered a small amont of this food intending to slowly introduce this into our cats' diet after one was diagnosed with early kidney decline. The cat who needs this food gobbled it up and the the cat who doesn't need it pushed him out of the way to try some herself then rejected her portion of other food, wanting this instead. Needless to say, the transition has been seemless.

Some Variety

Painful for a kitty with kidney disease very few foods taste good enough for them to keep interest. So he tolerates these and still wonders why his sister gets tasty

Extremely inconsistent

My cat likes the food but every new shipment has been a problem. The food is incredibly inconsistent as far as texture also. Id expected at least consistent texture

My cat likes the food but every new shipment has been a problem. The food is incredibly inconsistent as far as texture also. Id expected at least consistent texture for the amount the food costs. Sometimes you get stew, sometimes you get pate stew... Figure that one out, haha. Kidney values have remained steady. That's the singular reason she is still on this food.

Our vet has our cat on KD diet & to be honest, it's hard to tell if he loves it or not because he's not picky & since we had to take away his dry food he's driving

Our vet has our cat on KD diet & to be honest, it's hard to tell if he loves it or not because he's not picky & since we had to take away his dry food he's driving us nuts, he's developed a bottomless tummy. I've even invested in the supplement to sprinkle on his regular food that we feed intermittently. Vet says in 3 months he will test Dexter's kidney's to see if the new food is helping. p.s. I haven't tried his treats yet.
