When will Renal Support D be back in stock?

what do the D E, S, and T stand for??
Answer by ChewyJun 20, 2018
The delectable (D) formulas comes in a pork and chicken in chunks in gravy, the enticing (E) comes in a pork and chicken pate, the savory (S) comes in pork and fish kibble, and the tasty (T) comes in pork, salmon, and chicken pate (dog formula) and sliced (cat formula).

My cat was just diagnosed with kidney failure. I'm giving her Renal Support E. What does intermittent or supplemental feeding mean? Am I supposed to be adding this to the regular soft food she was getting?
Answer by ChewySep 16, 2020
Use Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Renal Support only as directed by your veterinarian.

Would the D or T formula be acceptable for an older cat who has fewer teeth? My cat eats E right now but she tends to like gravy formulas better; I'm concerned she would struggle to eat chunks or slices. Or can the chunks/slices be mushed up with a fork? Any help appreciated!
Answer by ChewyJun 06, 2020
For your pet's health and well being, we suggest consulting your veterinarian to find the most appropriate formula.

Favorite of 4 wet kidney foods!

We are happy to say, that our 4 yr old parking lot adoptee, has finally decided on a wet kidney food. Royal Canin D won! We had leftover cans of kidney foods that our 16 yr old princess, who passed away in June 2021 from cancer, had tried. Our new little guy was very sick when we found him in January 2022. He has FIV and early stage kidney disease, and though he chose Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets NF Kidney Function Early Care Dry Food pretty quickly, the wet foods were unpopular. We all know each cat is different, but I hope this helps other families. Just FYI, the other letters of Royal Canin, E and T, were no go. Also the Hills Science Diet wet Kidney foods were all rejected, by both cats. We were so happy when he liked the dry food, that we tried the Purina Pro Plan wet foods too, to no avail. Hope your furry friends like this Royal Canin too!

My finicky cat loves this!

Both of my cats have some level of kidney disease and need a new diet. One cat is happy with a dry version of kidney diet food. After trying a few other brands/types/flavors of canned kidney diet foods, this is the one my more finicky cat loves! He “asks” for it several times a day. I’m happy to give him all he wants as he has lost 2 lbs in the last year. The only drawback it’s that it only comes in 3 oz cans and is quite expensive. Is there any way it could be sold in 5 oz cans or larger?

My cat surprisingly loves this

My 12 year old cat has stage 2 CKD. Our vet recommended changing her diet for renal support. First we tried the Hills diet prescription food. My cat wasn’t a big fan and the food smelled awful. I decided to try this brand and to my surprise my cat LOVES this stuff and can’t get enough. It’s expensive but worth keeping my cat healthy

Picky eater

This is something he will eat and not hesitate to eat or throw up this is pretty good food it's special food for his kidneys and he doesn't need much of the other types of foods but this one he actually eats

Small size, but kitty loves it

I use this as a snack for my CKD kitty. She loves it! I usually have issues with feeding her chunky food - thankfully, this does NOT make her throw up like others have. The only issue with this food is that it only comes in a smaller size, which is not very cost efficient. I wish it came in 5oz!

Fur baby not interested

My 14 year old fur baby who has kidney disease is not fond of this particular wet renal cat food. None of the renal wet cat food really. I've tried different ones. There is not a great selection of wet renal food for cats. They just don't like the taste and it's money down the drain when they don't eat it. It's not cheap! I'm trying to find someone whose cat has kidney disease that I can give the wet food too. I can't afford to throw it away.

Have to mash

My cat doesn't love the pate renal food, bought this type hoping to doctor up the regular to make it inciting. My cat hasn't many teeth, these chunks don't mash easily, ends up being too chunky plus I add water so he can drink more than chew. In this case I wouldn't recommend but my other cat, who doesn't need it, loves it!!

Surprise...

This was the very first prescription food my little critter was given. She scarfed it right up. She actually liked it. I was VERY pleased. I recommend. AG/California

If my cat likes it, I like it

Likely most of us have cats that are a bit finicky and when they come down with CKD, it’s worrisome when you hear that they can only eat one kind of food for the rest of their lives. I am so happy that my cat loves this food! She likes it in every flavor and definitely prefers the chunks with gravy to the pate.

Great Food!

Both of my cats get bored eating the same food. Since they are both limited to Renal formula food, it’s nice that they have a variety that they seem to like.
