My picky eater has rejected the Hill’s tuna pate for kidney disease and is hit or miss on the Hill’s chicken and tuna vegetable stews for kidney disease cats. She loves this, though. She was underweight for awhile and got spoiled with a large variety of foods, so I often have to mix this with other foods to get her to eat enough calories, but it’s been a year now and she hasn’t rejected it. Even 1/2 prescription diet and 1/2 regular is a huge advantage over not feeding a prescription diet at all.

I’m a big fan of the Royal Canin brand of foods. The company does well in the nutrition and enticing flavors for cats. Unfortunately, to my utter surprise Tigger decided he didn’t like the food. He had already kicked the other two brands of kidney food to the curb. I thought Royal Canin for the first five days were the key. I even tried adding a little tuna fish, and he still barely would touch it. That is the only reason I gave a 4 star. I’m now just trying to get him to eat and not starve to death. So I’m now back to the drawing board trying to feed him food that has low phosphorus due to his kidney issues. He is 16 years old and deserves food he likes.

Gigi has been on medicated Renal Kidney cat food for a few years. She has a complete senior physical every year, w/complete blood work done. Her #'s have stated in the 'almost' normal range. Not getting worse, but getting better. Yay. She still plays and races around like a kitten.

I cannot say enough positive things about this food, after trying numerous brands and flavors. My cat loves this stuff, cannot eat enough of it, and it’s immensely helping with her Stage 3 kidney disease. She’s gained weight and it’s vastly improved her coat. She’s a whole new cat.

My cat has been on a kidney diet for years and because of chronic polyps, he doesn't have much interest in food - so he's not picky or food motivated! However, he was losing weight on a pate diet we had him on, and this chunkier style he LOVES! He's put back on some of the weight he lost, and because it's in little chunks he's more able to eat all of it with very few teeth. (With the pate, a lot of it didn't make it in his mouth...) A bit pricey, but worth it :)

No longer palatable to my cat .

My Cat will not eat it. I wonder if the formula changed? They eagerly ate the last batch I had. This one he will not eat? He had been on it for a few years.

My cat Oliver has become very picky in regards to eating any canned food that is meant for his kidney care. I was so hopeful he would eat this because the very first day I gave him a spoonful of this food, he ate almost all of it. Unfortunately, the next time I gave him this food, he took one lick and walked away. The other two cats in my house, who do not have kidney issues, think this food is delicious and will clean Oliver's bowl if it is left unattended. Oliver will go into the other two cats bowls and eat any of their canned food they leave behind, so I even tried putting the food from his bowl into their bowls to trick him into eating it. But he still turns his nose up at it. I'm glad I only purchased 6 cans of this food since he doesn't want to eat it. I will keep trying to get him to eat the remaining cans over the coming weeks. I will say that this did not smell like typical cat food when I opened the can. It reminded me almost of the Dinty Moore beef stew in a can, which I thought for sure would appeal to Oliver. But he is just a finicky 14 year old cat that only wants the things that aren't good for his kidneys. So for now I give this 3 out of 5 stars. If Oliver would have eaten it, it would have been 5 stars.
