is this safe if ingested by a dog? my dog has a sore on her nose

Answer by ChewyJan 10, 2022
This ointment is non-toxic and non-irritative to animals once applied. It is also unappealing to animals, so the chances of them consuming the product is slim. It is not required to cover a wound treated with HoneyCure but we recommend covering the wound if your pet is very active, or is prone to rubbing the wound against surfaces.

How does this repel bugs if it has honey? I thought insects were attracted to sugar.

Answer by ChewyJul 03, 2022
One of the main ingredients of HoneyCure is Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Oil), which has shown to help repel insects.

Our girl cat had a gnarly wound from a kitten we got from the shelter who turned out to be very feral and aggressive. It became infected and couldn't afford a vet bill rn. So we were looking for alternatives. BUY. THIS. We cleaned the wound 3x daily, applied this, and the infection was gone within just a few days and she's healing so well! It smells soooo good, too. It's literally magic in a bottle. I believe the honey is part of the magic.

I bought this for my husky. She has a wound on her belly area. I apply it once a day. The first time I apply, it was easy but then the second time I apply, I notice I have to squeeze very hard to get the product out. And when I checked her wound from the night before, the product is not even on her skin. It’s not an ointment base but more of a paste that doesn’t stick on the skin. Her wound is slowly healing though.

Too Chunky

The honey in this product is too crystalized to put on a wound. It does not apply easily and clumps up. I do not recommend this ointment.

My cat’s tail was injured over a year ago and had to be amputated. The tip never healed correctly and bled periodically. In June he opened the wound further so my vet advised a regiment of cleaning and using the honey ointment to it protected. I was able to get the wound to finally heal completely.

Works well for cuts, scrapes.

Worked well on cuts and scrapes on two foster dogs. Have plenty of it left if it is needed again.
