Kitty wouldnt touch it. Only when I mixed it with kibble did she muster up an appetite to eat for the day. I gave it to her plain she barely touched it. Then for dinner I mixed it with her grains not even a sniff was attempted. Only after she left a few bites with the kibble did I notice very large shards of what I hope are bone fragments see photo. Overall Im irritated I wasted what little money I have trusting in what the ingredients claimed.
Most wet cat food does not smell great, to be honest. When I opened the can and scooped some onto a plate, I was amazed to find that it actually smells like grill cooked meat. (Not specifically rabbit, but it is definitely real grilled meat.) The texture is easy to mix with water to form the perfect mushy/soupy texture that my cats LOVE. Whenever I put this flavor in their bowls, my girls gobble it all up lickity-split. I cannot recommend this product enough!
Wanted to find a wet food with rabbit for my cat that is loosing weight. He eats it but very little (about 1 tablespoon) then leaves it. My other cat will not eat it. Wish I could purchase a variety of can cat food for my cats to try instead of purchasing 12 plus cans of the same brand that doesn't get eaten. The opossum likes it.
I have a cat with mega-colon, (yes, it's a real thing) and a cat with irritable bowel syndrome. All I can say is sometimes we rescue them and they have issues. Sometimes they rescue us and we do, too. If they can get over it, so can we! Ha! Anyway, this food is non-irritating for both of them. Nope, I'm not a fan of the idea of bunnies in the cat food. But, the cats are here and need to eat. This is something they can digest. I'm grateful it's available even though no one said it was cheap! To me, it's a bit gritty which may be very, very good for them and they like the flavor and texture just fine. I recommend this food for any cat on a limited-ingredient diet.
I got this food for my cats with stomach issues. They will eat the kibble, but walk away from this pate version of it. It is kinda a dry pate compared to different brands of moist food. It’s a really expensive food! Especially because my cats won’t eat it. I will donate it to my local animal control
My cat is allergic to chicken, which makes finding food she can eat a challenge. Instinct Limited Ingredient Rabbit fit the bill. She eats both the canned and the dry. The consistency of the canned has changed over the years. When I first began buying it, it was a firm pate. Sometime over the last 3 years it became looser and more watery. Sometimes it's firmer, and sometimes looser, but it hasn't been a firm pate for quite a while. Not sure why. Nonetheless, my cat likes it and apparently isn't allergic to any of the ingredients, so I'm generally satisfied.
My cat has sensitive stomach and this was the only one she tolerated. But recently they must have changed the formula or no more quality control because some of the cans are stinky, huge chunk of hard and white pieces, and there are little pieces of rock in it. My cat used to love it but no more. She would rather eat her dry kibbles than eat the wet food. Chewy's customer support was awesome. But I am very disappointed at Instinct. Will not buy it anymore.
I bought this for my kitty that needs a rabbit food - multiple (I counted AT LEAST 25) bone pieces per small can. No way am I letting my kitties ingest this. Will be calling chewy today!
Each can I open has more and more bones in it! My cat eats it. She likes it, but I feel awful giving her a food with so many bones! Does it really have to have that much? Can we lessen the bones please? I really hope Instinct sees our reviews and improves their quality.
This Instinct Rabbit Pate batch must have been contaminated with something. I opened the first 3 oz can of this case and it had the most putrid smell of rotten fish! The smell in the kitchen was so bad I had to open the windows and doors on a 93 degree day. Both cats backed away from their dish and went to hide. My husband came home about 15 minutes later and said he was going to throw up. What did they do?? The previous case of food was fine and had hardly any smell at all. Tomorrow when I’m braver I’ll open another can outside to see if it was one can or the whole case. Instinct, you need some serious improvement in quality control! I spent $60 on that case. My cats could have had fresh ground steak for that amount. Even if I return it, there’s no guarantee the next case will be better. Instinct, you are all over the map in quality but charge top price. When I pay that, I expect top quality and consistency. I don’t know what to feed the cats now. They’re looking at me wanting their good food. Help!!
