How would you suggest going about introducing a cat to this if they’ve only used a traditional litter box?

It's recommended to add some litter from your old litter box into their new one and place the new litter box in the same spot you've had the old litter box. You may like to try placing your cat on top of litter box and offer some treats.

Is the top removable to allow access for scooping/cleaning?

Yes, but I always have lined my boxes with large leaf bags then lift it out tie it & throw away. However, all my cats are declawed so they don't make holes in the bottom of the bag & I never use clumping litter. If I run out of bags I spray the bottom with a little cooking spray so nothing sticks to box.

I bought this more than months ago, 2 of them in fact. I have a Rag Doll and a Havanese, both quite young. They are as adults about the same weight. I selected this box hoping it would deter my Havanese from learning about cat boxes (and the contents). Unfortunately, it didn’t work. The dog was found peering at me from inside the box, one day. The cat is very happy with the box design, although I have noticed that due to his size he uses one end of the oval or the other. Some of the letters are difficult to scoop as they clump solidly to the box. It is easy to clean although some of the litters have stained it. It has held up quite well. Overall, I really like the box, but it isn’t a perfect solution for my issues.

Not going to salve all the worlds problems with a litter box, but it does do a pretty good job of keeping 99.8% of the litter in the litter box where it belongs. The only litter that comes out generally is the stuff that might stick to the bottom of paws. The scoop could be bigger, but that's my only complaint.

The design

It hides the litter, is convenient to use, looks nice, and even though some of the litter sticks to the cats feet a lot does stay on the lid and very little clean

Pieces fit together poorly

I contacted Chewy to let them know that the litterbox was damaged on arrival - not from shipping kindly gave me a partial refund- 5.00 I went to put it together

I contacted Chewy to let them know that the litterbox was damaged on arrival - not from shipping kindly gave me a partial refund- 5.00 I went to put it together -pieces fit poorly. I have a fairly large cat so I’m afraid that the lid will fall in frequently. I don’t want to contact them again, because I need it now as my old one the lid is broken. It looks like this is a common issue reading through just the first few reviews. So consider this when purchasing. it’s not cheap. I wish it was made better

Litter Everywhere

The litter box itself is fine. It’s not as ugly as most. It’s easy to clean. My cat might be the problem. His post poop zoomies kick in while he’s still in the box

The litter box itself is fine. It’s not as ugly as most. It’s easy to clean. My cat might be the problem. His post poop zoomies kick in while he’s still in the box and he launches himself and the cat litter (and sometimes turds) out of the hole at the top. I’ll hear him jump out and the cat litter scattering across the floor. I’ve got an xl litter mat too. This box just isn’t working out for us.
