Blend with lots of options for local birds in Southern CA
By BrinaBear on Feb 2, 2021
This is my first time having a bird feeder so I was unsure of which type of food to start with. Living in Southern California we have a variety of bird species so I wanted something that offered foods for different birds and size birds. This blend intrigued me because it has the basic nuts and seeds but also fruit, which offers a variety of foods (and nutrients) to my local bird population. It was also nice to have a blend as a newbie to bird feeding because I knew that the birds must like something in the mix! Sure enough birds were pecking away first thing after I hung it. I had heard it can take time for birds to find new feeders, not in my case they went straight to this food and starting This is my first time having a bird feeder so I was unsure of which type of food to start with. Made me excited to be feeding our local birds with something they enjoy. Being a blend it's also a more affordable option and I'm happy that Chewy has a subscription option! … more

Messy but the sparrows love it
By Blastkat on Feb 14, 2021
We elected to use Kaytee nut and fruit blend bird food with our Kaytee County Barn Wild Bird Feeder. We noticed but don't mind that it's messy. The sparrows and snowbirds manage to spill a lot of it on the ground surrounding the bird feeder while they enjoy the food or as they remove food and fly off with it. Currently, we see mostly snowbirds in the early morning and house sparrows throughout the day. They're a joy to watch.

Great Stuff, Good Price
By Natalie on Jan 23, 2021
I put this in a bird feeder and have a stool up to it so the squirrels can easily get to it. They LOVE it but as squirrel lovers know they only like the tip of the corn kernel. The nuts are really peanuts so as I fill the feeder I have to fish them out to a nearby bird bath. The squirrels dominate this feeder But doves love the discarded corn on the ground and Bluejays go after the peanuts and my sparrows and cardinals and woodpeckers come around for all the seed. I put birdseed, from Chewy, in another feeder but my squirrels go after the sunflower seeds in it. They have even figured out how to take the top off and spill it all over the ground. At least the birds can then get to it.

First time having Cardinals
By Jenny on Feb 23, 2021
I have had bird feeders in the past with food and would always just attract the finches. I tried the Kaytee Nut and Fruit and it I now have Cardinals! It took about 2 weeks before I first saw one. I am so excited and glad I got this food! I received cash back for this product for my honest review.

Bad cherries
By Lynn on Jan 31, 2021
The cherries look and smell fake. I get a dozen different kinds of birds at my feeder, but none would eat the cherries. The cherries clog the bird feeder/get stuck in the feeding slot and have to be poked out. I threw them on the ground and not even the squirrels would touch them. There are better brands that are cheaper. Do not recommend.

Not What It States It Is
By FlowerPower1234 on Jan 6, 2021
This wild bird food is supposed to be so expensive because it contains not just seed but also nuts and fruits. I have found exactly three raisins in the two cups of seed I poured out onto paper towels. That may seem like an extreme but I've been feeding the birds with it for a week now and haven't seen any fruit in it so I had to check. Most of the nuts in it are peanuts so you'd be better of price wise to buy bird seed and peanuts separately and mix them. You'll save a lot of money that way.

I mixed it in with their regular seed mix....Birds are very happy...always have a yard full of birdies! I am in Arizona with Quail, doves, house finch, fan tail grackles, mocking birds, verdins, sparrows, woodpeckers, etc.

Good Mixture
By Twingirls1boy on Feb 6, 2021
A nice blend of seeds, nuts, and dried fruit. Attracts juncos, cardinals, etc. Good for a treat, fine with high energy ingredients. I recommend an open tray feeder as fruit tend to clog my squirrel busters. ( I received cashback as part of a cashback campaign)

Food is fine for the birds but the packaging is bad.
By MomtoTy on Dec 29, 2020
This review is more about the order, not the actual seed. I ordered this item along with other pet food-the box was packaged poorly and the bird seed was ripped open causing it to spill out into the box and on the other items. I was able to find a container to scoop up/store most but it made quite a mess and I lost about a quarter of the seed between it falling out of the box when carrying it in, sticking to the bottom of the box tape, getting caught in the other items, etc.

Trail mix for birds
By Lacey on Feb 5, 2021
This looks like a bag of trail mix. This is for some spoiled birds. It has a great variety of different nuts and fruits I think the birds are really going to like it. I also think that it will help attract a variety of birds to our yard.
