Peanuts in the shell are popular with my Stellar's Jays, woodpeckers, and squirrels. I enjoy them all. I know a lot of people try to keep the squirrels away, but I welcome them. The birds get them so quickly the squirrels don't get many anyway. It's also handy because the pigeons aren't interested in them - so I have other stuff for our band-tailed pigeons. Something for everyone. Makes me happy.

A big hit with the birds (and squirrels)!

Here in the high desert Southwest, we get magpies as regular (and loud) peanut customers. Occasionally they let a squirrel take a nut. The crows are also big fans

Here in the high desert Southwest, we get magpies as regular (and loud) peanut customers. Occasionally they let a squirrel take a nut. The crows are also big fans and I love watching them calculate how many peanuts they can stuff into their beaks before they fly away. We've bought these peanuts for years and they're always fresh, without much breakage (mostly whole shells).
