Our boxer had eye surgery. We received the Kong Cloud collar from Chewy.com two days before the surgery! It took him a day to get use to the collar, but it is so much better than the white cone the vet put on him after surgery. Our boxer was hyperventilating when we got home from the vet and my husband was afraid he would have a stroke or a heart attack. We put the Kong collar on and it is sooo much better than the cone! He will have it on for at least two weeks, when we return to the vet for a checkup.
Corgi loved the Cloud Collar!

I bought the Kong Cloud Collar in size large for my 33 lb Pembroke Welsh Corgi after elbow surgery. Oddly enough, it almost seemed like he ENJOYED wearing it because it was like a built-in pillow. He never once tried to get it off or acted uncomfortable in it (like he had previously done in a cone or even in a comfy cone). The large was probably a bit oversized for a corgi, but I think he would have been able to reach his elbow in a medium. He wore it 24/7 in his crate and out, to eat, and to go outside ... and never had a problem. I would highly recommend!
Velcro not long enough

Purchased this collar in preparation for my pup to get spayed. Rather have something like this than that dreaded plastic cone! Purchased the medium at first but it was way too small. Got the large and the difference in the two sizes is dramatic. No problem I thought since we can make the large collar tighter with the Velcro. Unfortunately the Velcro on the collar itself is not long enough to adhere to the “strap” Velcro when you want to make it tight. Gonna try a work-around to shorten the strap so that it’s full length is able to adhere to the full length of the Velcro on the collar. Hope it works!
It does the trick

We bought the Kong to see if it would prevent our senior cat (who no longer wants to try to jump/climb over the fence) from escaping the yard by crawling under the fence through rabbit and squirrel scrapes. It works! The Kong allows kitty to wander all over the yard without being leashed. The Kong and a quick-release collar together make an easy on/off, and kitty doesn't seem to mind wearing it.
(Just FYI, our cats were raised from kittens to be on leashes when outdoors and have never been allowed to wander beyond the confines of their own yard.)
So Far So Good

I got this for my five month old kitten after he was spayed. He was having trouble with the cone they gave me and my biggest problem was that when he used the litterbox he would get it on the edge of the cone. This is great because it lets him still eat and he has fought it way less than the cone. It was very easy to set up. If you have a cat that isn't a tiny kitten though I would recommend the small size and not the x-small, I don't know that that would have fit him.

Using it during neutering recovery. For daytime use, with someone around to watch him - it works okay. He can still reach his incision but the collar slows him down enough for someone to stop this. A shorter necked puppy, (ours is cockapoo : 3/4 poodle), may not be able to reach the incision with this on. Puppy doesn't object to wearing this and does seem to like to rest his head on it. The cone shaped collars have been working better for night use.
Torn up in 5 minutes

In preparation for neutering of my 1 year old male Viszula of 56 pounds, I ordered this protective collar since Kong items are very durable. Not so with this item. Within 5 minutes my big boy had his toenail in the collar and loop attaching the Kong collar to his ripping the loop and a 6 inch seam in the protective soft covering, rendering it worthless. Fortunately, Chewy customer service was wonderful and refunded the cost without any return.

Last month our little 4 month old corgi pup was spayed. I brought this to the vet and put it on right away. It was so much better than any other cone we have used in the past. It was a comfortable pillow for her head & she didn't get to lick her little surgery spot. It did the job! Lasted 10 out of the 14 days until she popped it which I expected anyways so I'm in no way upset since at that point, she was almost done healing! Love how it attaches to the collar!

Bought for my pug after eye surgery, thought it would be more comfortable for him to eat & drink but this is more suited for dogs with problem below the head, like keeping them from scratching hindquarters, does not protect eyes. A soft cone better for eye protection. Also had to keep inflating it, but he liked it better than the hard plastic cone the vet provided.
Great Alternative to the Cone

My dog Nina just had surgery about one week ago to remove a small tumor and some other extra tissue - she has a long incision on the backside. She has worn the Kong Cloud Collar ever since she came home from the hospital. She loves it and thinks it's a pillow. It has kept her from trying to lick her incision. We gave it to her to sleep with a week in advance of the surgery so she thinks it's her toy. Highly recommend this collar!
