My cat absolutely loves this toy and takes it with him everywhere. Unfortunately, I had to confiscate it whenever the two boa strands started to unravel, creating a gap that could easily fit over his head and stay around his neck. I will say, my cat does play pretty rough, but this occurred less that a few weeks after getting the toy, so we won’t be repurchasing this one unfortunately.
Normally my cat will play with a toy for about 20 minutes and then leave it alone. There are about 30 mice laying around the house! She took right away to this one and grabbed it out of my hand and ran like a dog! When she finally brought it back it was wet with saliva where she tried to lick the feathers off. This one's a keeper....finally.
My cat is not a cat to engage it toys often. But, this toy I can get him to play & he absolutely loves it.
I have one of these that I have had for years. I set it aside when my older cats became less interested in play, but I got it out again recently to play with my newest feline kid. He is an extremely shy rescue who is terrified of being touched but does love to play. With this toy, I can play with him and then use it to very gently stroke him to show him that touch actually feels good. It seems to be working--he will now sometimes allow me to pet him. My strategy relies on this toy, and I was afraid that if it finally wore out (it hasn't yet), I would not be able to find a new one, so I was thrilled to find it is still available! I ordered two, just to have spares on hand, but my original one is still usable, although it has started shedding feather bits--not surprising since it gets a lot of use. It is a durable, high quality toy.
So, my cat really likes this; actual food couldn't tear him away from it. Bummer is that it's a bit fragile; feathers are already coming out. And that's the other part -- the pictures are a bit deceptive; it looks like it would be made out of a more plush material, but it's actually a string of feathers which, as I said earlier, come out fairly easily.
But didn't last long, a few days. She still likes to rub the soft pieces on her nose
My kitties love this teaser cat toy! Kong always makes really good stuff!
My senior cat loves to carry around the feather boa teaser and likes "gift" them to me. When her favorite tattered old teaser from another store began to fall apart, I knew it was time to find a new one. This is by far the largest, most well made cat boa teaser I've seen to date. It's impressively large and sturdy so I felt it justified the cost. I will be getting more in the future whenever it happens to wear down!
My 2 cats have GOBS of toys so why do I keep buying them more? The teaser they have like this one has taken a beating & Kong has been a good source of cat stuff, but this one is too long and awkward to shimmy around, making one cat disinterested & the other bored with how easy it is to catch. So, I cut it off by several inches. It's an improvement. But the handle/wand is too short, limiting the distance of the "play field" (big range on distance and things to maneuver around). All in all, considerably not worth the price. Maybe this will teach me to not buy more toys... at least until the next time.
My kitten is interested and plays with it, but it sheds like crazy and I dont really want my cat to eat or breathe in dyed feathers.
