This food can be offered as a full meal or as an important part of your bird’s diet. Many cockatiel owners have found that their birds love a combination of foods along with their pellets, such as Nutri-Berries, Avi-Cakes, and various fruits and vegetables. The manufacturer recommends giving three teaspoons daily and mixing this with Nutri-Berries or Avi-Cakes.
How long will this stay fresh?

Lafeber pellets have a “Best By” date stamped on the package when it is manufactured, approximately 14-15 months. The product should be stored in a sealed container, in a cool, dry area. Pellets can be refrigerated or frozen.
are these high in sugar?

No sucrose (sugar) is added to the Premium Daily Diet. The molasses in the product gives flavor as well as a source of simple carbohydrates that the birds need. The cane molasses is less than 3% of the diet and provides longer chain carbohydrates. The total energy level is very important and for cockatiel Premium is 3267 Kcal/Kg. This is a healthy energy level for cockatiels and because Premium is a balanced food, cockatiels will not put on excess weight.
