Love the new concept!

I was skeptical after using the original Litter Genie for many years, but I am really impressed with this design. I love that the bags pull from the bottom, that you just rip at the perforation, and wrap around the top clips. I do wish that there was a better design to hold the bags on the top clips because they do slide off sometimes, but I found if I bunch up the top of the bag and then loop around the clips, it always holds. You can't just wrap a single later of the bag on the clips. I don't mind the work around because the rest of the design is great. I love that you can open the divider and keep it open for those big scoops you want to go straight to the bottom. Overall, I prefer this much more to the original design.

Not just for cats!

I use this for my ferrets. They use a natural plant based pellet that clumps and is easy to scoop. It works great and holds the smell very well. The new roll bag is convenient as well. I like the new system better.

I really wanted to like this.

I had high hopes since I love the original product. Unfortunately, I found this to be difficult to use. The bag pops off the top holders if it is too full (a problem when you have 4 cats!). I also thought it was tricky to refill the bags but I would probably have gotten used to it if I decided to continue using it. I ultimately went back to using the original.

This is SO easy to use!!!!

This is WAY better than the original genie, it doesn't even compare. I don't know how much more easy they have to make the genie before people stop complaining, and give it a 1 or 2 star. It's not hard to use at all. I will never go back to the old genie , EVER!!! It's EASY!!!

I wanted to love it, but I hate it.

The reviews on here are so promising but it hasn't worked out for me! The litter gets everywhere when scooping. The lid, the slide out portion, the floor, everywhere. The notches that hold the bags don't work very well and twice now the bag has fallen into the canister. It is not easy to get out the poop/urine soaked litter. The scoop seems to lean towards the front so when you scoop it falls back into the box. The only good thing about this is the bags (incredibly durable) and the ability to mask the scent (litter genies have always been good for that).Give it a try, but know that it might not work for you in the way you had hoped!

Love it!

Been using it for a couple of weeks now. Very easy and clean and makes daily litter box clean up a much less dreadful task. Two adult cats and I’ll probably fill the bag a little more than once a week. Have emptied it twice so far and it was very easy to do.

The one is so much better than the older one. It’s nicer looking, the top loading and removing of bags is awesome. I just wish it came in colors!

not as good as the original

The only part of this new version of the litter genie that I like is that installing the bags in the bottom of the pail is easier and less messy than in the top. But that's where the positives end in my opinion. The bag is definitely much smaller than the original, and so it holds a lot less litter and has to be changed more often. Additionally, the method for making it stay up at the top on those little pegs is very poor. It tends to fall off easily, especially if I push the tray in. I have found that if I keep the tray pulled out all the time and just close the lid it still holds the smell in fairly well and does a better job of keeping the bag held up at the top. Otherwise, the bag will fall down once it is halfway full and multiple times I've had to clean litter and poop out of the inside of the unit. Very gross. I don't think I will buy this version again.

attracts gnats

Only thing I don’t like about this is it has attracted gnats and when I open the lid I have a ton of gnats flying out… if it is suppose to mask the odor then why do we have tons of gnats?? But anyways I truly love this genie. Way better than using grocery bags lol

I am impressed

When I first saw it, I was disappointed that it didn't look like it would seal the smell our very well, but I was wrong. My cats have toxic smelling poop and I was hesitant to put it into this container. However, it does a great job of trapping the smells and It really beats having to put the poop outside right away to cook in the summer heat and destroy the smell of the neighborhood. I have two young cats and would highly recommend this product.
