Are you able to fit a plastic bag with scooped litter waste into the pail, rather than putting scooped waste directly into pail? (and still have the system with accompanying inner plastic bag operate correctly)

Can the litter genie be used for small to medium size dogs or do the make a dog genie?

Although this system was designed exclusively for litter waste, we've had positive feedback that it works well for dog waste as well.

Love the convenience and reduced waste

I am a cat "auntie"/foster parent who has cat sat for friends and family in the past, and these people have always sent their litter genie for me while doing care

I am a cat "auntie"/foster parent who has cat sat for friends and family in the past, and these people have always sent their litter genie for me while doing care. I just took on a foster kitty while his forever family looks for pet-friendly housing. They sent him with the basics, and a bunch of rolls of doggy poop bags for the soiled litter. I hated going through all those bags -- it was a hassle to open them and dispose them every time I scooped, and I live in a 3rd floor apartment building, so it was also annoying to carry them out to the dumpster on a daily basis lest they collect and junk/stink up my living space (I don't generate a lot of trash and typically only take out trash/recycling once a week). Buying this saves a huge amount of wasted plastic (it's not like those poop bags were anywhere near full) and saves me from having to toss out litter waste on the daily. It may seem like a frivolous expense, but for me it makes caring for the cat a lot more convenient and just a little bit easier (and that little bit actually means a lot because this cat has a lot of high maintenance behaviors).

I switched over to the litter, genie and I have been a little disappointed with it since I’ve started using it. First, it came in shipping box in pieces because it wasn’t in a box itself, then after figuring out how to use it and depositing my pets waste in it it doesn’t really hold in the odor as I expected. I’m debating on returning it. I’ve always had very good results from what I ordered fromchewy but this just doesn’t match up.

Cheaply made

Litter Genies used to sturdier. The new ones are cheap and flimsy. Plus, they moved the cutter and now it's in a spot where it snags on the bag when you're removing

Litter Genies used to sturdier. The new ones are cheap and flimsy. Plus, they moved the cutter and now it's in a spot where it snags on the bag when you're removing it. Because of this, you can only lightly fill the bag, causing you to need to buy over priced refills more frequently. I bought cat litter that comes in a hard plastic pail and now I use that as a litter genie with empty bags like bread bags or frozen fruit bags or chip bags. More eco friendly and cheaper!

As a new cat owner I was very upset when I scoped my cat’s litter into a normal trash can and it stunk up the whole house despite being double bagged and put into another bag. I knew experienced cat owners mention this product a lot, so I had to get one. I’ve been so impressed after a month of use. You’d think it was just another trash can but it really locks in smell and honest guests say my house doesn’t smell like cat at all. There’s a small learning curve but it’s easy and clean to empty out once you get the hang.

Immediately a big fan of this! It really traps odors, which I love because my girl’s litterbox is in my room (she’s an anxious girl who doesn’t like to leave her mom’s room). The only thing I had a hard time with is getting the lid part open to put the refill in - it’s hard to do with your nails done - at least for me, but perhaps that was user error. My nails are just a bit grown out. I definitely will be recommending this thing to all my friends who have cats.

I think this is a great system for scooping and filling up a trash bag without any smells leaking out. I was dreading having to take out the trash by the end of the week with how much was piling up, but it's a quick and odor-free process to cut/tie off the bag without having to deal with the odors. It can hold SO much litter even with having 2 cats at home.

if you've got indoor kitties, this is a must-have! the genie completely blocks all smell, and it's super easy to cycle out. I highly recommend getting the larger

I love the litter genie, it does a great job of locking in the odors. Although I have to change the bag every other day and I am not sure if that is just due to

I love the litter genie, it does a great job of locking in the odors. Although I have to change the bag every other day and I am not sure if that is just due to having 2 cats and using pellet litter but it can get annoying. Overall I think litter genie is great but if you have more than one cat then you might look into an extra-large system.
