I did not realize this, and I should've looked more closely at the product photo but not all versions of this product have texture. The one I bought was smooth all over and therefore awful at trapping the litter. As a result, the litter ends up scattering onto the floor anyway

Love the size of this mat, especially with the larger size senior litter box. They say it's washable, but I haven't tested that yet. What I don't like is when I

Love the size of this mat, especially with the larger size senior litter box. They say it's washable, but I haven't tested that yet. What I don't like is when I try to use a hand held vac with carpet roller bar attachment, the fibers on the top of the mat pull off and clog the roller bar. Worse than hair to pull off. But the mat does collect the pieces of litter my cats drag out of the box on their paws.

Besides the pretty pattern, the matt really does contain about 95% of any litter kicked out or tracked out of Eddie's litter igloo. Cleaning the area each day is so much easier as there is only a small area to clean. If I should happen to miss a day, you can't tell because you don't really see the litter scattered on the matt.
