Great food for all small birds!
I love this mix for Chickadees; I have been using it for years. This mix is also strongly preferred at my feeder by Titmice, Downy woodpeckers, Eastern bluebirds, Goldfinches, and Cardinals. A perfect mix for tube feeders!
what happened??
I have bought this feed for several months and the birds have loved it until now. It appears that Lyric has gone the route of turning peanut pieces into pellets. Other brands have done this as well. I don’t know what process is involved in doing that but but birds and even squirrels will not touch the stuff. They also will not eat the great amount of millet that was in this bag. The birds eat the sunflower seeds but I end up dumping much on the ground. It makes a mess. It is the dead of winter and these birds that have depended on my bird feeders are greatly disappointed. A waste of food and a waste of money. I will buy one more bag but if it is the same I will have to find something else. I began buying this brand because it does not have the added synthetic supplements which are processed in China in it. Totally unnecessary additive to their food. Unfortunately, far too many corporations that produce feed for animals are giving them slow poison. I also avoid corn, another unwanted ingredient for bird feeders.
infested???
Received a 20# bag, when opened, had lots of powder and half eaten seeds in it. Birds seem reluctant to eat it so I am letting the squirrels have it. Will not buy again.
Birds won't eat it
The chickadees have stopped at the feeder and then just flown away. No other birds will eat it either.
Birds love it!
Chickadee, nuthatch, woodpeckers love this mix. I add sunflower seeds and dried meal worms to it. Perfect!
