The small pet door will stay on the adjusted level once opened. It will not automatically close and will need to be manually opened/closed.

Can the door be propped open?

Great height and width, hard to put up

This seems like a solid gate and is one of the only ones I found that are as high and as wide as we needed for our hallway. Maybe we are just incompetent....but

This seems like a solid gate and is one of the only ones I found that are as high and as wide as we needed for our hallway. Maybe we are just incompetent....but it took over an hour to put up and we still can't get the gate to latch. We use a twisty tie to keep it closed. It feels like a good concept but was much harder to put up than anticipated.

Not Shiba Inu proof

I thought that this would be great for keeping the cat's food and litter box away from my 18 lb Shiba Inu who can easily clear a 30" gate. I didn't think that she

I thought that this would be great for keeping the cat's food and litter box away from my 18 lb Shiba Inu who can easily clear a 30" gate. I didn't think that she could get through the cat gate on the 5" high setting. She has a 19" girth. It took her two tries to get through. She wriggled on her side and was able to squeeze in. I ended up adding a 1" square piece of wood to the bottom of the cat door to keep her out. She's only one year old so I'm hoping that she grows a little more.

Not for Cats!

It was a pain to put this gate together. After finally getting it up, it looked pretty nice. However my 8.5 lb cat was able to fit through so it’s pretty useless

Sturdy Product

This gate was easy to install by myself and is well made. It took a bit for my cats to figure out they could go through the opening. Love the fact that this opening

Love the fact that this opening size is adjustable as a previous gate I ordered had a hole large enough for my dog to get through-not good as the point was to keep them separate.
