The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight and activity of your dog.
Puppies, and Pregnant or Nursing Females, require 2 - 3 times the Adult amounts. A reduction in food intake is recommended for less active and older dogs. Serve at room temperature. Any unused portion should be covered and refrigerated. Fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to any new Natural Balance Formula over a 5 - 7 day period.
Day 1 - 2: 25% Natural Balance Formula, 75% Current Pet Formula Day 3 - 4: 50% Natural Balance Formula, 50% Current Pet Formula Day 5 - 6: 75% Natural Balance Formula, 25% Current Pet Formula Day 7: 100% Natural Balance Formula
If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10 - 14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
Feeding formulas with limited ingredients is a great way to minimize their exposure to ingredients. Limited ingredient formulas have a restricted number of protein and carbohydrate sources.
Food trials on a limited ingredient diet should take place over at least 12 weeks using a novel protein and carbohydrate source that the pet has not had before. No other treats or food items should be fed during these first twelve weeks.
Pets that can benefit from a limited ingredient diet should not have unsupervised access to human foods, garbage, or outdoor areas where they can ingest plants.
I had to try an alternative loaf after the prescription royal Canin loaf has been unavailable for a few months. This was a huge pain with GSD’s with dietary allergies. The ingredients of this looked good, the reviews were good, and it was similar to what they had (whitefish and potato) so I decided to give it a try. Two weeks in, dogs seem to like it, no dietary issues noted, no loose stool and so far so good. It’s also available so this will be my go-to option For a while until the prior stated availability concern is resolved.
Our vet recommended this for our 11 y/o Yorkie with allergies. Big bonus is it smells good. I thought canned food with fish would have a strong odor, but you mostly notice the sweet potato. The girls love it!
ALL of my Rescue pups beg for this food! Of course it is a no brainer since they have been so seriously neglected/abused but this is my go to food for ALL! High quality and delicious to them!
This is an excellent food for my dog's ongoing digestive issues and also my other senior dog. Unfortunately, this last delivery had a number of dented cans in it. I think it is not Chewy's fault but the fault lies with the delivery company.
My dog loves this. She wouldn't eat other foods, but was eating our cat's fish food, so we tried this and she loves it.
Daisy is super sensation even to chicken so I hoped This would be fine. Within minutes, there was a rash. Love most lid foods, but just be careful because your dog could still react. The fish created a reaction too.
My dog loves this, being on a seafood diet has been a bit challenging but this is a great find.
Just want to share that this is more sweet potato than fish. My yorkipoo usually eats Zignature salmon and trout wet food as a topper to his dry kibble . Zignature was not available at the time I needed to reorder. I researched wet food fish formula that is grain free containing zero chicken. Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish Formula seemed to be a match. My little guy is now constipated. The texture of this is dryer than the Zignature , pasty. I added a little hot water to it, but it becomes mush at that point . Overall, it’s just not the right fit for my guy.
They won’t eat it. Just smell and walk away. Even my junk food dog.
Pricey but necessary for our dog who has 10 food allergies. He does love it!
