i've tried multiple cat litters! ranging from clay to tofu, but this is probably my favorite. it masks smells really good, doesn't stick to the bottom of litter boxes like the majority of litters do, and doesn't track as much! it's also inexpensive and lasts a long time! wood litter was not soft at all, even at finer grains.. the wood would not mask the smell at all, would track everywhere, stuck to the bottom of the box. clay... not good for the environment and would actually smell way worse than every other type of litter... it's probably my favorite texture wise as it is very soft though, but i've never tried sand which i've heard is also a good texture. paper does not smell good or work well at all,, it's only good for kittens imo.. tofu smells EXTREMELY good. it clumps well, but sticks to the bottom really bad. you can only find small bags in NA, and the price is extremely high. this litter works like a charm, it's amazing. this is the only time i have ever actually written a review, but i just want to let all the parents know how good it is ! <3 :)
Pros: -exceptional odor control -good clumps (except for in corners) Cons: -dustiest litter I’ve ever used (I’ve tried wheat, corn, wood, diatomaceous earth, ceramic, cassava, silica, clay, and green tea -based litters, none of them come close in dustiness) -tracks more than most litters (worse than clay and silica) Overall, it makes my house dirty and hurts my lungs when I scoop or refill, but it’s great at odor control.
This is the best litter we have tried! No dust, clumps well, controls odors better than clay, crystal or corn. We have noticed that if you don't keep the potty full, it won't clump as well. So just keep the potty filled. My cats love it and we do too!
This is like 99% NOT dust free. I can visibly see the dust everywhere and it constantly gets tracked all around the house. I wish there was something equally as harmless for my cats/healthy for them but also had low dust tracking.
This clumps much better than the last three clay litters I used. It is also excellent at odor control. It does have a slightly earthy smell. It is lightweight so you get a lot in a bag and it last longer than a clay litter.
After adding one more cat to my household of 5 fluffy furbabies, I noticed my current corn litter was not working to neutralize odor. I tried multiple cat clumping litter brands with no success. Ordered this to try out and walah....works perfectly! It does have some dust yet no more than other litters and there is NO odor litter box use odors!
I really wanted to like this litter. I used Swheat Scoop for years and loved it, but this past spring I wanted to try a plant-based litter that was not made from edible material (it just didn't feel right to use a wheat-based cat litter when food supplies around the world are so unstable due to war, climate change, etc). I like that this is made from walnut shells, it is economical, it clumps quite well, and is okay on odor. But unfortunately this litter generates a lot of dark brown dust that goes airborne and settles everywhere. We have 4 cats that scatter a fair amount of litter, and the litter boxes are in our bathrooms. The smallest amount of moisture or humidity leads to dark brown stains on the tile, grout, and porcelain surfaces--it might not be so bad in a drier environment, but in a bathroom it's very unappealing. I may try one of the corn-based litters next, or just go back to the Swheat Scoop.
for years have used the clay litter, problem it's like cement on the botto, to try to clean. The Micro litter, so small and for me, Did not clump even when it says it does. Decided to try this . It's wonderful, it actually does clump! Easy to sweep up the little pieces that are on the floor This is my New wonderful litter.
I used to always buy this litter for my multi cat household and was very satisfied by its performance...but the last couple of times I gave ordered it I was not fully satisfied by the litter... it's like they have changed it and it does not clump or last as long as it did... But I guess its to be expected in today's world... company's reduce quality while increasing prices. sad for us consumers who just want a good product at a reasonable price!!
I really wanted to love this litter! I researched a ton and settled on this litter. It clumps amazing and smells great. And it cut down in the litter tracking. However, the dust was getting so bad I was afraid for my health and my cats. I even keep an air purifier right next to the litter box and it was filled with this walnut litter dust. It can't be good to be inhaling this dust in. Sadly we had to switch back to our old clay litter.
