While you may see a response within a few days, the recommended initial administration period is 30-45 days. For optimal long-term results, product should be used in conjunction with behavior modification in consultation with your veterinarian.
This product was purchased to be used in conjunction with behavior training to get my dog to stop nuisance barking. In all fairness, she's only been on it for a week or two but, so far, it's been an epic fail. Still willing to give it a fair try and hoping that a few more weeks will make a difference.
I bought these for our dog who suffers through storms. So far I’m only giving him 2 a day and he seems good. We are yet to encounter a bad thunderstorm but I see a more playful dog. He takes the pills like a treat and wants more. If you need something to calm your scared dog try these.
We wanted to try this before trying anxiety medication for one of my dogs. It doesn’t seem to help him at all unless he gets double the dosage. I have another dog who has epilepsy, and she would have focal seizures following events that cause her anxiety (being left home alone, a lot of people coming over, etc). Her veterinarian recommended giving her Solliquin prior to those events, and it seems to be helping! She hasn’t had focal seizures following the three events that she’s taken Solliquin before, so hopefully it continues to help her.
I absolutely recommend this product to everyone I know with an anxious pup. My dog is a GSD/border/pyrenees/golden/chow chow so guarding & working are his bread and butter. I’m not going to act like this supplement cures all because it’s simply not fair to expect a supplement to stop every anxious behavior but this one does a LOT. And it’s consistent. I’ve had my dog on it for 3 years now & I even did a test trial to see how much it’s working and holy cow I’ll never take him off of it. You need to keep your dog on it for at least 1-2 months before you start to see results in my opinion but definitely worth the consistency. I find my pup won’t eat it alone so I break it in half and put it in his canned food & that does the trick. Also, if you have behavior coverage in your pet insurance policy, they’ll reimburse you for it! Pic attached of my guy because he’s adorable :)
Does not work for dogs with anxiety do not waste your money
I think this product helps my anxious boy. I was bummed though when I went to reorder a while back to see that they only make one size now. I have to give 2. But mostly I feel like it also isn't working as well.
So far I haven’t seen a difference but it may take a while for it to start taking affect.
This supplement has been an absolute game changer for me and my dogs. I have two 3yo female Aussies who don’t handle stress well. One is a sport dog and our biggest struggle at competitions was her stress reaction. She would get so nervous all she could do was trot around courses, and if any person or dog did something that scared her it set off her reactivity in a panicked attempt to make the scary thing go away. My other aussie used to leap in the air like a cat when something startled her, even just bumping into a cardboard box scared her enough to run across the room. After several months using this product it has been an amazing turnaround. My sport dog performs so much better and rarely shifts into reactivity. The scaredy-cat knocked over a plastic flower pot the other day and didn’t even flinch. The effects take time to build up, and it is not a magic pill, but it is an excellent tool in conjunction with good training to turn Panic Brain off and Thinking Brain on.
I have 4 rescues. 2 of similar age , both very jealous and possessive over attention. The fights are horrific. One is way more hyper than the other. The quieter one is ferocious though when they fight. I used this for a month with superb results. Ran out of it and counted my blessings for about a week of no more fights ! Surprise , tonight was another very serious fight. Just ordered more. THIS STUFF is GODSEND ! I actually will be auto Shipping because I never want to run out again
We are on our 2nd or 3rd bottle of Solliquin. While I have always been reluctant to medicate my girls my Alternative Medicine Vet and I decided to give this a try. Tried every holistic approach that we could think of to alleviate what appeared to be stress digestive issues aand anxiety. My pups are just very anxious when I leave the house. Despite my erratic schedule it seems to be working, she's just a happier pup. Never a snuggler (Aussie watch dog), she'll share a couch and look for her share of the belly rubs, a behavior I hadn't seen for a long while. Digestive issues have also cleared up (she's been on grain free, preservative and additive free with extra fresh veggies and chopped chicken for a LONG time). I feed my furbabies better than my husband some day (REALLY!!!). So, always checking for potential side effect but haven't found anything to be alarmed about so we'll keep doing what we're doing for the time being.
