Onguard Plus works to eliminate fleas in all life stages. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your dog has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. Don’t worry, Onguard Plus starts working immediately on any new fleas that get on your dog, eliminating them within 24 hours from contact. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

We are having a terrible year for fleas. The Advantix II that I had been using on my four dogs for years quit working. I could not get a quick veterinary appointment for prescription oral drug treatments. So I decided to try something with a different formulation. The results have been mixed. Our really old dog still has quite a few, while our young golden retriever is itchy but we have only found just a few on her. My 9-year-old Jack Russell has remained flea free.
I purchased this product and It did not work. I'm very disappointed!!! I'm on a fixed income and times are hard. I needed a tick and flea prevention for my animals and this product was highly recommended to me, but unfortunately it did not work. It ended up costing me more money and time. * I Do Not Recommend this Product * I purchased this product for two dogs and a cat. Sad to say they ended up contacting fleas. More money and time wasted. In my opinion this product needs to be taken off the website. It's very misleading and it doesn't do justice for our animals 😢 Thank you!
I made the mistake of trying this I have always used advantix in the past on my 3 rotties never had a problem if a tick happen to get on or not it would die and come right off. First week of trying this one of my dog's had a tick embedded in him. Had to twist the darn thing out with twizzers. Unfortunately 2 of them have had Lyme disease in the past so was hoping this did as well of a job with tick as it says it does. Well back to the expensive stuff but I have to wait a couple weeks since I've already put this on them..
We are combating a flea infestation, bought this to go with oral meds. It simply didn’t help. Even starting out with no fleas on the dog, he was covered 2 days later. It is, however, the same medication and the more expensive topicals, but neither work. Moved to Nexguard. I give up on topicals.
Doesnt work at all I put this product on my dogs over five days ago and hasnt help what so ever I wouldnt recommend to any one
I have no clue why the negative reviews. I have used Frontline and others. This works just the same.
I have used this as a preventative measure monthly on my dog and cat(the cat one) for about 6 months now. They got fleas last month while on it, and it did nothing to help them. The numbers kept going up while within the month of giving it, getting baths, and daily brushing. I will never be purchasing this brand again. Lesson learned to just stay with frontline or better.
Onguard really does work! I've used cheaper brands but they did not work as well as Onguard.
I think it has been effective so far but leaves a really greasy gritty feeling on my dog's fur. I put it down on her skin as directed but still her fur looks and feels dirty.
I have used this on my lab for years, the ticks just fall off of her and no skin irritation, very happy
