What is the difference between this and the enzymatic gel? This was also has enzymes and the enzymatic gel is also antiseptic.

Answer by ChewyAug 12, 2018
This formula is used for serious mouth conditions such as periodontal disease, stomatitis, gingivitis, red inflamed gums and ulcerations. The Oratene Brushless Enzymatic Oral Care Therapy Dental Gel relieves, soothes and protects mouth tissue against dryness and odor-causing bacteria.

Can this be used daily as a preventative????

Answer by ChewyOct 05, 2019
Using an enzymatic pet toothpaste (with a finger-brush, gauze, toothbrush, washcloth) and brushing your pets teeth as often as possible (at least once a week) will do a world of good for preventing large problems later. It is important to note that you should stick to cleaning the outside of your pet’s teeth, not the inner/tongue area.

Do I need to withhold water or for 30 minutes before and after using this gel?

Answer by ChewyOct 21, 2018
The patented MD2 Enzyme System makes plaque water soluble and unable to adhere to the tooth surface. Feel free to just apply a 1/2 inch strip to upper and lower gums twice daily, preferably after meals. Continue use for 5-7 days.

Does this help remove tarter?

Answer by ChewyOct 06, 2021
This does not help with tartar. A veterinarian must remove the hardened calculus, known as tartar.

My cat is 18 years old and has serous teeth and gum issues. He is too old to have surgery according to the vet, so just treating him with pain medication and this gel. Since given it to him daily his health has improved. He no longer drools and has been eating more wet food. He has gained a little weight and seems to be feeling better.

Easier than traditional brushing

Don't have to fight my felines to care for their dental health. Just squeeze a bit into the of their mouth and done. No more stinky breathe. They still don't like

Ok

Pretty ok. I have it on rotation. It's a gel and does make the teeth whiter. It doesnt do much for Hess's gingivitis, but it does get the yellow off of their teeth

Really improved her gums and breath.

Astrid was really having issues with bleeding gums. She was miserable. After less than 4 days, her gums improved enough that she didn't need the vet. I now use it

Astrid was really having issues with bleeding gums. She was miserable. After less than 4 days, her gums improved enough that she didn't need the vet. I now use it once a day and she is doing very well. She also likes the taste of it and she is a very finicky cat.

My dogs are very accepting of the spray. Its easy to use, and iI especially appreciate that the nozzel easily reaches behind their lips to spray their back teeth. I have a 60 lb dog and a 7lb dog. They were surprised the 1st time I used it. The successive uses have been well accepted. Lastly, it has no smell which I appreciate

Easy, painless

My pup is resistant to every possible dental care product I try. She'll let me brush her teeth, but then she'll puke. I have tried EVERY dental chew--she won't chew

My pup is resistant to every possible dental care product I try. She'll let me brush her teeth, but then she'll puke. I have tried EVERY dental chew--she won't chew them. She tolerates this gel, and it hasn't upset her (sensitive) tummy.

Works great to help heal inflamed sore gums.

Poor Maxie was a street cat her whole life before I took her from the shelter. She had severe dental problems and had to have most of her teeth extracted. The remaining still had stomatitis at the gym level. Red sore gums that hurt, this product really helps and Mazie is pain free and able to eat in comfort.

Great

My dog doesn’t like me messing around in his mouth, but I’ve seen the results of this product. Classic vet recommended product for bad breath and dirty teeth.
