Great purchase
By Quinn on Mar 26, 2021
I purchased the 65 gallon filter for my 40 gallon mud turtle tank, and given about a week to clear up the water, it works spectacular. I have one four inch and one 6 inch turtle and they don't have to fight the current, but it also keeps the water clean (I have tried many filters that were a waste of money). The only alteration I made was adding a tube to the output to reduce splashing. For this I used extra hose trimmed when setting up the filter. Great investment, I've been cleaning the filter about once a week and it keeps the water crystal clear and my turtles happy.

Very nice piece of equipment
By DrScience on Mar 11, 2021
Well-designed, well-built, well-packaged with very clear and detailed instructions. Really a pleasure to see a first-class piece of gear these days when so much aquarium stuff is distinctly tacky. I got the 700 for my 30-gal tank on the theory that you really can't have too much filtration and anyway there are times when the maintenance isn't as prompt as it should be. It is not entirely silent but it's pretty quiet, and if you wanted to put it in a soundproofed cabinet it would leave nothing but the sound of swirling water. Easy set-up, easy maintain. Just need to see if it keeps it up after a few years.

Not recommended

I was so pleased when I first got this filter. It wasn't hard to hook up, even for someone like me who is NOT handy. After time, though, there were problems with the impeller. A little rubber part gets stuck inside the filter top, which you can trouble shoot after researching. I emailed the manufacturer and the 2nd time, but it took them 2 days to reply and I had already figured out the problem. After I replaced the 2nd impeller, a few weeks later the filter started making a terrible noise. I unhooked everything to clean and reassemble. After that, it wouldn't work at all. Going back to 2 hang over the back filters. PS. The rubber feet underneath tend to drop off and get lost.

My problems are solved
By Laura on Feb 13, 2021
I’ve had this filter for a few months, and it has been the answer to my prayers. I have a 45 gallon stock tank that I repurposed to be a patio pond for my full-grown “carnival” goldfish. There is also a large family of Platy fish living with him. Nothing kept that water clean. Goldfish are so dirty. This filter is much larger than I expected, but it is quiet, and I only have to do maintenance once a month. I was having to change filter media frequently, and take filters apart frequently to clean them because they became overwhelmed with grime. This filter made my life soooooo much easier.

Awesome Filter!
By Happy on Feb 16, 2021
I've struggled for years with different filtration systems to keep my turtle tank clean. As anyone who owns turtles knows turtles can have their tanks dirty in no time. I finally purchased one of these canister filters in the 150 gal size and within 3 weeks & only 1 filter change my tank went from mucky water to clear & clean. I highly recommend and plan on purchasing more canister filters for my fish tanks.

Better than expected
By Pingo on Jan 25, 2021
Very well made, heavy thick wall construction, silent operation. Used to replace over the side filters that make splashing and accompanying noise. This filter has good flow, and totally silent, you really wonder if its on. Fill as high as possible with water to prime, the hand primer is not the most effective. It will take 5 min or so to blow out all the air in a first set up. Easy to hide and will not become the focal point like the over the side units. Plenty of room in baskets for media.

It is worth it!
By Kristen on Dec 22, 2020
I was skeptical at first, because the intake hoses don't actually seem to screw-seal on like you'd think it does, but it has held up. I ordered mine a few months ago after spending $80 on a hang on fluval filter that died on me after only 3 months and I've had no issues! The water is definitely cleaner than it would be using a hang on filter and I love the jet stream. I've had no issues at all but I'm very wary of leaks, I will change my review if there's any issues. (I put the lid of a pie container underneath it and check that for any leaks)

Great product
By Idahogator on Feb 26, 2021
Ordered this for my new tank setup and it was extremely easy to setup and doing a great job so far. Easy maintenance and the ability to change media to what I want when I want makes it the best choice for my use

The filter
By Trey on Jan 28, 2021
I bought one of these because the hang on back filter motor was over heating and shutting off after 3-4 months use. I do not regret spending the money cause hands down this filter is amazing. I noticed crystal clear water in a day or 2 and I am very much so impressed with my purchase.

Don’t waste your money or time
By Kellz on Jan 19, 2021
I tried this product out to go with a lesser priced filter, however, I would highly recommend going with a higher end filter FOR ALL AQUARIUM NEEDS (Fluval or one from a good aquatic store) Set-up didn’t seem too hard but there was no “pull” from tank when I turned it on. Hoping for a refund.
