Penn-Plax Cascade Aquarium Canister Filter

I bought this filter for my 90 gallon turtle tank and love it. Unfortunately my order was lost during shipping but after a quick call to Chewy they sent me another one and it got to me quickly. The set up was pretty straightforward and the water in my tank is so clear. I've only had it set up for a week but I've had no issues with it. It is quieter than expected which is nice. The filter I use for my 40 gallonmakes much more noise than this one. So far no complaints. I am in the process of purchasing another large aquarium and will definitely buy another one of these filters for that tank.

I have the 1500 in my 55g tank with my yellow bellied slicer. I do weekly water changes and it keeps the water pretty clean for a turtle. While it is easy to assemble be careful not over tight the intake and out take valves like I did the first time. And It’s super quiet at night. Overall good for the price.

My only regret is not buying this sooner. It is the quietest most efficient filter I’ve ever had. The adjustable flow and multiple outputs makes it easy to fit your needs. I have an Axolotl that is a poop monster and this filter keeps the water circulating and crystal clear without having too much flow to stress him out. I love that you can add your own filter media to it. I run it with ceramic balls to grow nitrifying bacteria, and Purion instead of carbon as a chemical filter.

Seems great to get a canister filter for under 100 but this one has no bio and the filters inside are worthless, you basically have to replace everything inside the filter for it to work well. I have a fluval on my other tank and it is what ill ve replacing this one with. Would return if I could but its prob too late.

Filter easy setup and is quite. I have it in a 75gal bare bottom tank. Its rated for a 150gal tank. Does not work at all. Followed directions of the placement of tubes exactly. I have one fish in the tank and i still haft to clean the bottom every day. Very disappointed in this filter.

This filter is awesome when it works. Chewy is amazing and has replaced it twice. It must have gone out again last night. I’m super disappointed because I really do like this filter.

After making a mistake getting an underpower filter for my 55 gallon tank, I decided to go with the 700 model Cascade. Now I feel there is sufficient flow to clean and oxygenate my tank. Love the handle that makes it easier to grab it from underneath my aquarium stand and the built-in primer is awesome. Makes starting up the filter so much easier than my last filter. Easy to change out the filter media from the two trays and customize what I want to use. An amazing bargain for less than $60!

I purchased the 65 gallon filter for my 40 gallon mud turtle tank, and given about a week to clear up the water, it works spectacular. I have one four inch and one 6 inch turtle and they don't have to fight the current, but it also keeps the water clean (I have tried many filters that were a waste of money). The only alteration I made was adding a tube to the output to reduce splashing. For this I used extra hose trimmed when setting up the filter. Great investment, I've been cleaning the filter about once a week and it keeps the water crystal clear and my turtles happy.

Only worked for 5 months. Now it won’t run water through it. Huge disappointment.

The filter more than fit the bill. It came quickly with no delays, and the instructions for a new comer were adequate to the point I had it up and operational in a very short period of time. One thing I see a pattern is: CHEWY is fast.
