How much grass are you supposed to allow your cat to eat? And how often are you supposed to feed it to them?

Answer by ChewyApr 29, 2024
The serving size should be adjusted according to the size of your pet. Consult your veterinarian for more information about the proper serving size.

Can the pet greens be planted outside

Answer by ChewyOct 06, 2022
We do not recommend planting the self-grow kit outside. Since Cat Grass is actually wheatgrass sprouts, it helps to think of it as produce and care for it in a similar way. The average lifespan of wheatgrass is about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on a variety of factors like the temperature, humidity, etc. The good news is there are things you can do to extend the life, like storing the pots in the refrigerator when your pet is napping or out on a play-date. Keeping it trimmed helps, too, and you can sprinkle the trimmed ends on your pets’ food. Transplanting to a larger pot will not extend its viability.

Will feeding this grass to my dog encourage or entice him to try and eat non-edible grass on our walks?

Answer by ChewyAug 04, 2018
If your pet doesn't already eat outdoor grass naturally, then this should not encourage them to. This pet grass is meant to be fed as a treat and added to food. Pets that eat outdoor grass normally have an underlying reason, but this behavior can be helped by making your own edible grass readily available to them.

if you cut the grass will it last longer?

Answer by ChewyJan 12, 2021
The Pet Greens Garden is ready for your pets to enjoy when the grass reaches about 2 inches in height. It can grow up to 7 inches high, but should be trimmed at about 5 inches to keep it fresh and healthy.

You grow it IN the package

I'd preferred that we could dump it into a pot abd grow it but the instructions read to grow in the bag, which left a mess of mulch seeping out through the holes

I'd preferred that we could dump it into a pot abd grow it but the instructions read to grow in the bag, which left a mess of mulch seeping out through the holes once water was poured into it. It would have been nice if the holes came pre-poked already and that after three days the soil looked like it was mildew-ing. Had to throw a way. Waste of money. Won't buy again.

Best Kitty Greens Ever!

I just plant 1/2 the seeds and got potting soil for the other half. My kitty loves this most of all and it lasts longer than any other I’ve ever used! Best Kitty

I grew so fast

The feral cats are eating it. I clip fresh grass & cut it in small pieces & sprinkle it on their food. All gone means they love it.

Grew nicely. Dog didn't care about it.

Not sure if this is actually a good solution for dogs who eat grass. My dog didn't care about it at all. Worth a try since it's not that expensive. It grew well

This is my go-to brand. I like how easy it is to set up. Cut a few holes, sprinkle the seeds, water and you’re all set. Plus, it will keep going longer than other brands if I water it every few days. It lasts for weeks.
