Description

PetAg Bene-Bac Plus FOS & Probiotics Gel Supplement is a concentrated blend of seven naturally occurring microorganisms found in the intestinal tract of mammals. Newborn mammals have no bacteria in their GI tract at birth and inoculation typically comes from nursing on their mother. If these newborns are being bottle-fed, giving a probiotic may help to speed the growth of needed bacteria in the GI tract. This supplement can also help animals who are experiencing stress, a change in diet or who are on antibiotics. This potent gel contains 20 million CFU per gram of viable lactic acid-producing bacteria.

Key Benefits
  • Contains a source of live naturally occurring microorganisms for dogs, cats, exotics and wildlife mammals
  • Great to use when training, working, transporting, showing, post clinical therapy, weaning, or for orphaned newborns
  • Recommended any time an animal experiences stress from changing nutritional or environmental conditions
  • Relieves intestinal stress with lactic acid producing bacteria
  • Contains 20 million CFU per gram of viable lactic acid producing bacteria

  • Bunnies love it!

    By on

I have one bunny with ongoing tummy issues, so am adding this in as a second/maintenance probiotic for her. It is still a bit soon to know if it will help, but at least she thinks she is getting a special treat. She happily and eagerly takes this every few days, and her husbun always tries to push her aside because he wants it, too! To appease him, I let him clean the syringe off after she has taken her dose. I've also started giving it to my other pair of bunnies as a maintenance probiotic due to them both having their own health issues, and they both love it was well.

My cats were having loose and soft stools with blood and mucous and I had tried Purina's Forte Flora but there was no improvement. I was able to get a credit on the second and un-opened box of the FF and as soon as this gel arrived, I used it and saw an immediate benefit. In less than 3 days, the stool was normal. I would recommend mixing the gel with a small amount of canned food first, then adding the rest of the portion. See my other review for the powdered version which is also effective. I give the powdered version daily to my one cat on antibiotics and the gel version to my 4 other cats, mixing up the total amount needed with their food and some water, and I give 2x/week as they are getting My cats were having loose and soft stools with blood and mucous and I had tried Purina's Forte Flora but there was no improvement. Probiotics help the gut stay healthy which promotes greater immunity. I add fiber food sources (prebiotics) to the mix. Chewy.com provides excellent customer service! … more

  • It is an OK product

I have been using it for two weeks now, it helps but it has not stopped diarrhea for my cat completely. May be it has to be given for a long time to see desired outcomes.

  • It helps defecation

    By on

One of my dogs is from a puppy mill and he had been making soft poop since we have got him. We started feeding this product and after a week, his poop become solid. Since then his waste looks healthy. We still give it to him once a week. We are very much satisfied with this item. BUT! if your dog had diarrhea, I recommend you to go a Vet before its to late. I think this is not for severe situation.

My newborn puppies had diarrhea when they were a week old. Vet recommended a pea sized portion for puppies. Seemed to work

  • Great probiotic for dogs

    By on

My dog has a history of GI issues, and food sensitivities. Her vet introduced us to Bene-Bac because, unlike probiotic powders that are on the market, this one is free from ingredients that could upset my dog's stomach. My dog actually looks forward to her "pudding"! It's easy to give and it seems like it is helping my dog's tummy.

Impossible to find in stores. Vet's prices were 4 times what I bought this for through Chewy.

  • Ingredients now differ from what was just listed on here when I ordered!?

    By on

The ingredients on this Bene-Bac Plus gel are different from what was just listed here on chewy's description when I ordered. Sugar is now listed as the 3rd ingredient on my applicator & on the listing (I would not have purchased it had I known this). The description on chewy had said it contained dextrose (a sugar) at the end of ingredients (making it a very small amount), and I even asked chewy what the % of dextrose was in questions above before I ordered, and they replied "3%". I am not happy with this as it is for my sick ferret (ferrets should not have sugar as it is known to cause insulinomas).
