Is this safe for cats as well?

Arent all the enzymes cooked out?

Answer by ChewyMay 27, 2022
PetKind strongly believes in the benefits of green tripe, even when cooked. The amino acids provide the biggest benefits in green tripe, and those are retained, even after being cooked. While PetKind understands that the digestive enzymes in green tripe are lost, cooked green tripe still offers exceptional health benefits for dogs. Many people who feed raw also feed their green tripe products as a supplement.

I see you say this is for intermittent or supplemental feeding. Is there any harm/reason not to feed it every meal, say mixing a small amount with kibble every meal?

Answer by ChewyJun 26, 2018
This products is not nutritionally complete and balanced for your pet's life stages. It is recommended to pair with normal food.

The food product, itself, is excellent! But the quality control on their packing is simply laughable. I’ve been ordering various versions of their canned tripe for many years on auto-ship, and it’s like a crapshoot. I hold my breath when I open my shipments, because the chances of getting a case full of extremely dented cans is just that high. The last 3 shipments were fine, so I thought, “maybe they fixed their packing machine!” Then this case just arrived with these (see photos.) what in the actual heck??? Someone needs to tell them to fix this. These are going in the trash.

I have purchased tripe many times for one of my dogs who is pickier than any dog on the planet and she eats it up most of the time . I couldn’t get the brand I normally do so I fed this to her . I was hesitant to give it to her because it smelled even worse than the tripe I was used to. She ate it and it made her sick . I should trust my instincts. I have no problems with chewy .

The dogs LOVE it!

Tripe is so good for our pets but can be difficult to find good stuff. This meets my expectations and even my fussy dog eats it. GREAT for gut health.

I was first told about tripe when one of my dogs had some tummy upset. That was 10 plus years ago. I always keep a can or two on hand. It’s one ingredient and since I have a dog with allergies this is important to me. Then my store that carries this said the company went out of business. I just have their word for it, but I quickly looked for a new place to buy it. Thankfully Chewy has it! I hope it continues to be available.

Aussies Love it!

My pup loves this food! You have to get past the smell at first, but it's worth it.

Made my dogs sick

I usually buy Solid Gold Tripe - decided to go with this brand as it was $10 cheaper a case - should have stuck with Solid Gold - one dog is throwing up - the other

I usually buy Solid Gold Tripe - decided to go with this brand as it was $10 cheaper a case - should have stuck with Solid Gold - one dog is throwing up - the other two have diarrhea - I only use a very tiny amount as a food topper -mostly so my elder dog who is 17 can find her food as she's blind - this will go in the trash as I don't even trust donating it - expensive lesson should have stuck with the Solid Gold.

I love it

A bit smelly for people, but I love it. It’s great for my tummy and it keeps my teeth white. My vet is always impressed with my teeth. I add it to every meal.

Big time treat

I add just a bit to a meal as a bonus for all 5 of my dogs. They love it and it helps their gut microbiome too.
