It's wireless from the charger to the pump, but the charger must be plugged into a USB port (not even a wall plug). My cat likes it, but I had to run an extension

Quiet, compact.

I tried 6 fountains (like a reviewer) and only 2 were quiet, used compact design and used minimal cardboard-mostly packaging, and had simple designs that seem durable

I tried 6 fountains (like a reviewer) and only 2 were quiet, used compact design and used minimal cardboard-mostly packaging, and had simple designs that seem durable. Months later, both of those are still humming along (with simple replacement filters) and helped my reluctant kitty to drink more and get healthier.
