I am looking for a pink (or purple) litter box with high sides, as my girl likes to kick litter out the back of her box, but doesn’t like enclosed boxes. Can this be used without the hood? What is the height of the front and back of the tray without the hood?

The hood for this litter pan is removable. The Large is approximately 6.5 inches in the back and 3.5 inches in the front without the hood. The Jumbo is approximately 8 inches in the back and 4.5 inches in the front without the hood.

How high is the entrance from the floor?

The height from the floor to the entrance of the Large is approximately 5 inches. The height for the Jumbo is approximately 8 inches.

Is the Large size Petmate Basic Hooded Cat Litter Pan good for 10+ pound cat?

The litter boxes do not have weight limits, however, we recommend that you measure your cat prior to purchase. A litter box should be one-and-a-half times the length of your cat from tip of the nose to base of the tail. The large box measures 18.8 x 15.2 x 14 inches, and the jumbo box measures 24 x 19 x 18.5 inches.

Too small for Ami

Somewhere (possibly in a review) that it would accommodate large cats. It is too small for Ami's comfort. It is extremely difficult to scoop due to the rounded corners

It is so low in the front Ami scatters litter. I will donate to my local humane society and order another one when my Social Security check arrives. It might be fine for a small cat or kittens ( except for the scooping issue).

This litter box is very poorly made with cheap plastic, super sharp edges can harm your pet and it is super small. Just don’t buy it.

Nice Hooded Potty
