Can this crate be secured in a car with a seat belt?

At this time the manufacturer does not produce accessories to secure the kennel in a car.

My large cat is strong and has pushed his way through carrier zippers. How secure is the top panel? How is it fastened? Thank you.

The top of this kennel is securely locked with spring-loaded latches. Steel wire and plastic construction combine to create a sturdy carrier.

What are the interior dimensions? I'm trying to see if my carrier mat/pad will fit properly before I buy a new one.

Sturdy & vet tech approved

I bought the medium size carrier about a year ago, for a cat who is an escape artist. She really tried to get out of the new one, but could not. My only complaint

I bought the medium size carrier about a year ago, for a cat who is an escape artist. She really tried to get out of the new one, but could not. My only complaint is that it’s heavy and awkward for me to carry. This year, I bought the small size for our smallest cat, who loves snug places. I haven’t used it yet, but I can already tell that it will be much easier for me to manage. These sturdy carriers are not cheap, but neither are they overpriced. They are well thought out and easy to assemble in just minutes. (Maybe a little longer if the kitties decide to help.) Our vet techs especially appreciate the top doors on carriers. Since we only use these for short trips to the vet, the smaller size suits us best. For long trips, though, the larger ones would be best. My only real ding is against the medium sized carrier because the top door doesn’t stay open on its own. Makes it quite awkward to hold it open while both hands are busy with a wriggling cat. Otherwise, it would be 5 stars from me.

I have bought 2 of these carriers. I like the size of them, but, there's an issue with both. I specifically bought them because they have a front entrance, AND a top entrance. The problem is the top doesn't stay open by itself on either one, it has to be held open with one hand or it slams shut. So I'm trying to rangle my cat into the top entrance with one hand, while trying to hold it open with the other, or someone else has to be there to hold it open for me. Very disappointed the top door does not stay open on its own. I would not purchase them again because of this issue.

This is a great large size carrier for a large cat. The thing to consider is that the top opening does not stay open unless someone holds it open. It just won't tip that itty bit to allow one person to open the top, pick up the cat and put the cat in. So it is a two-person process - at least it was for us. Otherwise it is a great study carrier with NO sharp edges etc. very very safe.

My only complaint is that the top door of this new one doesn’t latch correctly- I have to wiggle and push a lot get it to fit properly on one side or else the top doesn’t lock. Picked the carrier up and my kitty almost fell out. It’s just not well aligned as the first one.

Fred likes the room while Ginger is comforted by the snuggle. The crate arrived damaged and Chewy is replacing it and I will offer the damaged one to the shelter (along with two other crates that are front door only - and well loved) I LOVE Chewy and their graciousness.

Strong and Well Made Kennel

We have a very large cat (16+ lbs). And he's rambunctious. So, this kennel was the perfect solution for him. It's well made and strong, easy to access from the front door or the top door. Great venting holes along the sides too allow for fresh air and for viewing our kitty. The larger windows seem to calm him too compared to his former kennel. The carrying handle is attached securely and makes it easy to carry. The door latches are "positive" meaning you absolutely know they are secured and will not come open. This is our second kennel from the manufacturer. The other one actually was still in perfect condition(over 20 years old!), except the door had rusted. This version has a coating on the metal of the door that should keep it looking new for years to come. In addition, we wanted the top door (last carrier did not have). It's really nice to be able to open the top door and pet our kitty to sooth him without him being able to escape. Really nice kennel. Well worth the price.
