Can this be used on a table with the laser directed to the floor? My kitties are special needs and have balance issues, so if it was on the floor it would certainly be knocked over almost instantly.

Instructions indicate to sit on a hard flat surface. The mirror reflector is adjustable and you can stand it up on hard surface or lay on hard surface above the animal. It's adjustable where the laser goes by using the adjustable mirror. Item is not near the pet per se.

How far does the laser go when on

The Bolt Interactive Toy does not have a specified distance but from the manufacturer testing they have seen a range of up to 5 feet in automatic mode. In manual mode, you can aim the toy further, but the max range has not been determined.

In Automatic Mode, the laser will make random patterns, moving up, down, left and right.

Does this make a lot of noise? I had one similar by a different manufacturer and the noise level was ridiculous.

Cats are easily bored. Would not recommend.

I don't think this device produces a random pattern. I think it just does the same thing over and over and the cats find it boring and still beg me to use the hand-held

I don't think this device produces a random pattern. I think it just does the same thing over and over and the cats find it boring and still beg me to use the hand-held laser pointer. It's also kinda loud. It only seems to be kinda effective if it's on the floor. I think there could be a much better interactive toy that could be smart, random, etc.

My cats meow for it

We have had this toy for about 24 hours so I cannot speak to the longevity of the product. I got this for my cat who needs a good 2 hours of play every morning

We have had this toy for about 24 hours so I cannot speak to the longevity of the product. I got this for my cat who needs a good 2 hours of play every morning. After only two uses my cats learned to start meowing next to the toy when they want it turned on. It has kept them occupied for hours already. I love the adjustable mirror so I can change where the laser points and it has a great range. They are running all over the room! I almost wish it would run for longer than 15 minutes but that is probably enough time for most cats.

Good idea, poor implementation

To entice cats, laser pointers need to use quick, furtive motions. Like mice in a field. Or spin in a fast, tight circle. This thing doesn’t have enough power
