I’ve been using the disposable trays for years, but since my cat has chronic kidney disease, she tends to use the box more frequently, and thus the disposable trays are getting quite expensive (they’re not cheap no matter how you slice it). After investing in the stainless steel tray, I just did my first litter change, and I’m thrilled with how easy it was. The residual wet litter that clung to the bottom of the tray wasn’t too bad, and I knocked most of it into a trash bag. And then rinsed the tray in my utility sink. I’m not worried about a little litter going down the drain, as it pretty much disintegrates when it’s overloaded with water. I should’ve switched to this a long time ago to save money.

Easy to clean

When I got this I was worried about cleaning, but I just had to dump the litter (that didnt stick bad to the pan) and rinse with the hose. For extra stink control

When I got this I was worried about cleaning, but I just had to dump the litter (that didnt stick bad to the pan) and rinse with the hose. For extra stink control I sprayed some "nature's miracle" and wiped in clean. Plus saves a lot of money compared to the card board boxes

I thought I would have a way of keeping my cat from going outside the box

First off he would not go in the box at all. Then when he started using the box, he kept going on the part that lifts up. So I still have to clean the box. I
