Poor Quality Tubing

The tubing on this set is poor quality. It kinks way too easily. Also, the slide clamp and/or the CAIR clamp crush the tubing so it won't flow after releasing the clamps. Not recommended. There are several similar reviews. Hopefully Chewy replaces this with a better option or at least offers another set from another manufacturer.

Does a good job.

This IV set works the way it's supposed to, to give your pet fluids. The tubing is soft, so it's easy to clamp shut. When you release the clamp to give fluids, you will see exactly where the clamp was, and you will have to use your fingers to squeeze the tube back into shape so the fluids will run, but then the tubing works perfectly to give those fluids. I've had the softer tubing, and I've had stiffer tubing that pops back into shape on it's own when you release the clamp, but that stiff tubing is much harder to clamp closed when you finish, and it takes more hand strength to work the clamp. I prefer this IV line because I can clamp it shut more easily.

Line pinches

Both the rolling stopper and crimp pinch the cheap tube line. This will cause the fluids to slowly drip or stop flow entirely until you work the pinch out of the tube, which is difficult to do while administering fluids. Avoid this IV line set if you can.

Line Pinches

I have to agree with the other reviews regarding the cheap line which permanently pinches shut after using the roll clamp. It can be frustrating when you are trying to hold your dog still with a needle in them and then try and find and reshape the pinch which is preventing flow. Another thing I noticed is that sometimes, towards the end of the bag, it get microbubbles in the line which cannot be flushed out. Not sure of the cause of that. I had none of these problems with the Zoetis brand from the vet - trying to find those online.

Don't Buy!

Purchased this because it was the only one that Chewy sold that was the right size. While it does work, the tubing kinks every time. It is difficult to get a steady stream flowing properly. Purchase from elsewhere or your vet's office.

Tubing crushes under wheel clamp

This works fine to start with, but after a few days, the tubing gets crushed under the wheel clamp. You need to open the clamp, then squeeze the crushed tube to allow flow. Even if you move it to a new spot each time you use it, the tubing somehow softens with fluid inside and will still crush after a few days. They do have a warning, "not to be used for more than 96 hours", and I'm sure this is why. But, when you need to give 100ml/day, the iv kit won't last the entire bag. No other iv sets I've used have had this problem. Sadly, this appears to be the only 15 drop/second iv kit that Chewy offers. I'd have given a lower rating, but they do have the warning, so I guess I shouldn't ding them too badly.

not a good product.

This product is not good. The tube kinks and blocks way to easily. Would find a better product like what I bought at the vet.

Other brands are easier to use

Great for Sub Q fluids

Works really well for administering sub q fluids to our non-cooperative pup. Easy to use and a great flow-rate of the liquid which has helped speed up the process when paired with the Terumo needles. So helpful when your furkid hates having this done on a regular basis. We’ve had no issues with the tube after removing the stop clamps and massaging out the kink. Great product.
