Problems with product and distributor
By Yclept on Jan 16, 2021
I had selected this set because of the longer tube and the purported drip rate. Thankfully, there are other brands to try. The tube material is very soft and susceptible to permanent crimping. Out of the bag, it had two deep creases in the 5" section just ahead of the needle. Tried to work them out but to no avail. I doubt the set will achieve the claimed 15 drops per mL flow rate, especially after having added more crimps from the 2 attached clamps. Not having previously used this type of drip set, I was keen to follow the instructions. Unfortunately, Chewy didn't think I needed them, because they covered that entire section of the bag with their Rx label. Not having previously used this type of drip set, I was keen to follow the instructions. Unfortunately, Chewy didn't think I needed them, because they covered that entire section of the bag with their Rx label. Never mind that there was plenty of room on the bag to stick 3 more of them, without covering any vital information. Some stick-on labels are easily removable (without even leaving a sticky residue), but not this one; the label will likely long-outlive the plastic bag on which it is affixed. The instructions themselves are also problematic. It seems the writer assumes the user has some prior knowledge of, or experience with, using this particular style of drip set. Some statements are scantly described, leading to ambiguity, e.g.: "Close clamps. Insert pin. Suspend." (Suspend *What*? The tube? The bag?) "Invert...Y-site..." (At this point, isn't it already inverted? Did you mean *Un-invert*?) On the plus side, the product was complete and the annotated diagram helpful. The bag was sturdy, although it did not protect the tube from folding over itself, creating the aforementioned permanent crimps. The longer tube would have been helpful, but I won't order this again. … more

Too Much Prep Time
By detroityogi on Nov 19, 2020
These lines serve their purpose but only after taking five minutes every time to bleed the air out of the line wasting precious Lactated Ringers solution. Air bubbles were a constant problem and the source of this time and solution waste. I always had to move the lock up or down the line because it would remain pinched shut to the point where no fluid would move. Finally Chewy has had a 66.6% failure rate when it comes to getting these approved by my vet. Finger pointing, five + phone calls between my vet and Chewy with no good resolution. Finally Chewy cancelled the line part of my order to get the solution to me. Ineptitude and lack of caring by Chewy reps that I spoke to is unacceptable. Line pinches too easily
By John on Nov 11, 2020
Tubing is too soft. Once you open the flow, you have to un-pinch the tubing EVERY time to get the fluid to flow. On a time limit to get fluids into a semi-feral cat, so taking time to do this, isn't ideal.

This IV set was very easy to set up and the flow was fast and smooth. My cat never moved while on the line and it seemed to calm him.

Works great and fantastic price
By Lizzy on Nov 17, 2019
I've been using this type/ brand for 3 years and recently started buying them from chewy. This one works better than another one I had bought on chewy that has a blue clamp. I have not had any issues at all with this one.

Plastic tubing stays pinched in clamped area
By Scott on Oct 30, 2019
The plastic tubing restricts the flow of fluids once you release the wheel clamp unless you raise or lower the clamp and manipulate the pinched area to start the flow of fluids.
