Best way to clean?
Answer by ChewyJun 23, 2018
It is always recommended to clean the gravel before placing in your tank. Use a large clean sieve (colander) and fill halfway with gravel. Pour water over the gravel in the sieve, while gently shaking it. Once the water runs clear, the gravel is ready to be used.

Nice,real pebbles,But

The gravel is real. The bags do have a small amount of sand in it. However, the gravel is a little darker than shown in the picture and almost no white, unlike the picture. I needed another bag anyway ,got white and mixed it. I do Not want a refund, Overall I am happy with my purchase. FYI ,rinse before adding to aquarium. I love the new look of my aquarium.

Cumberland River

Bought 2 bags of Cumberland River.Color was WAY off. Not even close. It looks like clay rock. Disappointed because creating the tanks are one of my favorite things and takes alot of planning for me.

Nice looking pebbles for my aquarium. I bought 3 bags of them, eventually, because I will be getting a second aquarium. Nice for the substrate.

Nice natural colors

Good color mix for my planted tank. Covered about one square foot ~1" deep.

Not the color ad advertised

I know that not every screen depicts colors the same way but this was entirely off by a lot. I purchased "Cumberland River" stones and here in the pictures, the pieces are slightly warm but neutral. In real life, the bag is labeled correctly but the stones are like "Nutty Pebbles". They looked SUPER yellow, horrible and everyone said they looked like corn! I spent a whole day manually sifting and picking out the stones from my aquarium. Then I was too embarrassed to ask Chewy for a return because I opened the bag already.

Fishtank Gravel

Well, it's fishtank gravel. It's really pretty but it's fishtank gravel. What is fabulous about my recent purchase is the fabulous customer service that I've received. Inclement weather stalled my delivery for quite a while and when I called Chewy to see if they could help they got a conference call with Fed Ex set up and within a couple of days Fed Ex found my package (in a huge pile of other packages) and got it to me. Thanks Chewy!

Picture is inaccurate

The custom color doesn’t have any light colored stones. Wanted that color specifically. It looks like nice gravel otherwise.

Nice pebbles

Nicely colored small stones. Took one bag for my Marineland portrait aquarium. No film or coating that I could see or feel. Look very nice with green plants

Easy to clean

These pebbles were really cute giving the Fishtank a natural look and compared to colored pebbles they did not take but like two rinses.
