My pup is about to turn 8 soon so I put her on the hill’s senior vitality recipe lately. However after a few weeks on that food she started to act lethargic and reluctant to eat! I was really concerned so I searched around and decided to try this one. Immediately she was much more keen on this kibble and seems a lot more enthusiastic and energetic. Very impressed so far. I’ve also had a suspicion that she has a slight poultry allergy so it’s nice to find a food that is poultry free, but also meets her needs as a senior. The kibble isn’t super tiny but also small dog friendly which is great. She is basically in-between a mini and small dog and seems to prefer kibble pieces around this size versus the mini varieties. Not relating to this dry food, but I will also mention that the Pro Plan wet foods are DISGUSTING. My dog much prefers the Hill’s wet foods and I’ll say as a human they smell and look much better too. I do like this kibble a lot but I’ll stick to Hill’s for wet food, even though their senior kibble didn’t work out for us.
My dog is quite picky when it come to food, but she likes this one! She finally gained weight after losing some due to being on a special diet to rule out allergies. Her fur is shiny looks really healthy. The only downside of this food is the price tag. That’s why I only give it 4 Stars.
I rescued 2 toy poodles, the first of this type of dog that I've had. We've had stomach problems for almost 2 years, until contacts that have toy poodles recommended that I switch away from foods containing chicken. My non-poodle rescues don't object to the change, and the toy poodles have blossomed! No more tummy troubles, and even their runny eyes have cleared up!
We have an 8 year old Lab and a 10 year old Dachshund who both have issues with allergies and very sensitive stomachs. They love this food and have done very well since changing to it. Their coats are beautiful and we have had no stomach upsets. We are very pleased!!!!
My dog has been on this line for over 3 years now, and I recently switched to the senior version. The kibble is smaller and easier for my dog to eat. It also has glucosamine for their joints which is great especially has she ages. I have this dog food on auto ship and recommend it to anyone with dogs who are allergic to chicken and have a sensitive stomach.
I've fed ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach for a lot of years, but now Rocket has turned 8 so I tried this one this time. It's OK, I guess. The dog eats it, but not with enthusiasm like with the other one. It's not causing him any harm, but I really find it's smell quite disturbing. I don't know what's in it that's not in the regular one, but it smells spoiled to me. The old one just smelled like salmon. That's what I'm going back to next time.
We switched my 10 year old shepherd mix to purina pro plan after 6+ years on blue buffalo. She absolutely LOVES the salmon flavor and gobbles her food up. We actually ended up getting her a slow feeder because she was eating too fast she liked it so much! So glad I did some research and switched her to PPP. She may be 10, but she's my baby girl and I only want the best for her!
I've had my 3 dogs on Proplan Sensitive Skin and Stomach for quite a while. Up until a few orders ago all 3 loved the food. For some reason over the last few months my 3 do not like it. This is a big problem for I have one dog that has a very sensitive stomach and if he stops eating I sometimes have to put him on medication to have him start eating again. Have you changed your formula? I'm not the only one who has this problem
Our 10-year -old Golden began having loose stools and diarrhea. We asked the vet about it and she recommended this dog food. His stomach issues stopped immediately after feeding our dog this food.
The size of the pellets is ridiculously small - like for a tiny toy dog. They should post photos of the size so we know what we are purchasing. One of the benefits of dry food when a dog Chews it is also cleaning their teeth. This is so small they choke on trying to swallow because it's too small to actually Chew. So disappointing. I will now have to mix this up with something else to make it more substantial. Never again.
