The Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach formula has been great for our 14 year old MinPin mix. He has enjoyed it for years. However, the shape of the kibble has been changed to a triangle. The pointy ends make it nearly impossible for him to eat. It is not uncommon for senior dogs to have dental issues; these do not require wet food, but edged kibble is not feasible. I would expect Purina to take dental health into consideration. We are incredibly disappointed in this change. Our dog can no longer eat the food because of the pointy corners.
My dog was on blue buffalo for 9 years. And then 6 months ago I had to take him to the vet because he was having very loose stools with blood in it. Found out he was allergic to blue buffalo. Been using Parina pro plan.. and it’s been working great..
My pup developed an issue with a chicken-based food that he had been eating without incident for over two years. After reading reviews for this food, I decided to give it a try. He seems to like the taste of it, plus he no longer is having loose stools. He also suffers from allergies, and seems to be significantly less itchy.
I recently purchased via vet recommendation. I had been feeding Fromm's trout and whitefish, which is a great product. However my dog is still a puppy and I think it was too rich. right now i am mixing them until I run out of the Fromm's. No more diarrhea!
Unfortunately this food caused my yorkie Sam to vomit repeatedly and downright refuse to eat. I'm not sure if it was an allergic reaction or a bad batch, but we were unable to feed him the rest of the bag and had to throw it out unfortunately. We followed proper precautions, easing him on to the food from his other purina formula and he just could not tolerate it. Interesting, as it is dubbed for "sensitive stomachs."
my yorkie has IBD and is currently on hills zd. i wanted to find a less expensive and more accessible alternative to his prescription diet and found that this and the lamb recipe seem to be the only quality and trustworthy non poultry kibble around. Teddy isn't so sure about this kibble. he'll eat a nibble then turn his nose. Huge bummer. As far as the food itself, the kibbles are slightly larger than hills small breed kibbles, though despite their side they seem to be easier to break than the hills, which is probably due to their shape. the food kinda smells like fish flakes or sushi nori. i can snap them with my fingers. I also wish the bag had a zip closure like the hills bags do. besides all that, i'm sure this is a high quality and nutritious food for any dog who's less picky than mine. lol.
This food is great for my dog, but I do not understand why your company will not ship to the US Virgin Islands when we are a US territory and postage is the same as in the states.
Not only does my doxie love this but so do my cats. Like most doxies mine has a very sensitive stomach and this has been fantastic for her. My two cats are older but they love this dog food and have had no issues.
My dachshunds would never eat dry kibble. I have given away so much dog food and spent so much money trying a new one. The expensive ones and the cheap ones. I bought a bag of this because it had a dachshund on it and I had read some good reviews. Finally I am so relieved that they love it and eat it every day! It’s a miracle and you have my deepest thanks!
It was so easy and convenient for my family to order our Josie pet food which she loves! Kinda of expensive but well worth it! Thank you Chewy! Weegee
