Questions & Answers

9 Customer Questions

What is the difference between the "Naturals" and the regular EN?
Answer by ChewyMar 06, 2021
The designation “natural” simply implies, in general, that the ingredients are not synthetic or produced using chemical processes. Being “natural” does not affect the product efficacy or digestibility. To be labeled as "natural", a pet food must meet the definition set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO): A feed or ingredient derived solely from plant, animal or mined sources either in its unprocessed state or having been subject to physical processing, heat processing, rendering, purification, extraction, hydrolysis, enzymolysis or fermentation, but not having been produced by or subject to a chemically synthetic process and not containing any additives or processing aids that are chemically synthetic except in amounts as might occur unavoidably in good manufacturing practices.

Is this cat food pate or chunky with gravy?
Answer by ChewyApr 08, 2022
This formula is minced wet cat food.

What is the percentage of calories that come from protein, fat, & carbohydrates? Thank you.
Answer by ChewyMar 10, 2021
The Fat percentage is 5.45% on an as fed basis. The Protein percentage is 5.45% on an as fed basis. The Carbohydrate percentage is 5.45% on an as fed basis.

My cat is on Rex hydrolyzed protein cat food, and doing very well, no more vomiting. He had a bad episode of pancreatitis. Is the protein in this food “hydrolyzed” ??
Answer by ChewyNov 22, 2020
This recipe does not contain Hydrolyzed Protein. For a complete list of ingredients, click on the 'Nutritional Info' tab, next to the 'Description' tab, just under the product photos.

Game Changer!

My two boys were having issues with sensitive tummies and despite trying pretty much EVERY brand of canned food they did not eat much. Thanks to our vet recommendation of this food they beg for it every morning! This in conjunction with the kibble (also Purina EN) my boys are doing great! They chow down. No tummy issues. Both have gained the much needed weight. Thank you Purina for this amazing food!

Kitty likes it

Fortunately for me, Kitty Sapphire likes this because with sensitive stomach issues I have to be extremely careful what I feed her and there are few options for a picky eater. She has been on the EN food past few months, but I prefer this formula because of the natural ingredients. She was on the Hills Z/D prescription food, but it seemed to be causing more diarrhea issues. She no longer has any diarrhea and it’s a relief.

Not for him

My cat Blacky is on the regular canned EN cat food and threw up from the dry and canned EN natural cat food. I had gradually introduced them to him but he still didn't tolerate them.

This is great food!

Callie had been throwing up a lot and my veterinarian suggested she be put on Purina Pro Plan EN foods. Since being put on the EN food, she is doing great now. Not only that, Callie loves the EN Gastroenteric Naturals canned cat food.

Misleading ingredients on Chewy

The first ingredients listed in the picture on Chewy are NOT the first ingredients listed on the can, unfortunately. The first ingredient is meat by-products, not chicken hearts, liver, or even chicken. I'm struggling with how to rate this because my girls ate it quite happily, they currently need this kind of diet (this brand saved their lives!), and I'm thrilled with Chewy's system for contacting vets. It's just frustrating because I thought I was getting better quality ingredients than I did. Please remove or correct the fifth photo on the slideshow.

Needs work

Both cats have rejected it which is unfortunate as one cat needs a special diet.

Good for cat s with irritable bowel

Nona , my cat has eaten the dry for several years. As she is getting older she needed more moisture in her diet. She is getting use to moist food.

BEST SERVICE

I am very pleased with the fast delivery of cat food that I have been provided. My cat is on a special Vet diet and CHEWY had the food I needed. I ordered and with two(2) days, I received his food. I strongly recommend CHEWY to ALL of my pet owners for fast service and plenty of in stock pet food items that are not found in other vendors.
