Description

Convincing your cat to eat when she’s experiencing gastrointestinal upset from a parasite or infectious agent is far from easy; but when the prescribed food tastes like savory chicken and whitefish and is easily digestible, there’s a good chance she’ll meow for more. Formulated to relieve GI upset, one of the most common reasons cats are brought to veterinarians, Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Naturals Canned Cat Food utilizes a low carbohydrate approach for your cat's unique needs. It contains a plentiful portion of highly-digestible protein, an important factor since GI upset impairs a cat’s ability to digest and absorb nutrients. Plus, it’s made with natural ingredients you know and trust, with added vitamins and minerals to nutritionally manage GI upset in cats.

Key Benefits
  • Gastrointestinal upset is one of the most common reason cats visit the vet. It can be caused by many factors and generally impairs a cat's ability to digest and absorb nutrients.
  • Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN has been specifically formulated with the high protein levels that your cat needs, as well as prebiotics, low fiber to support intestinal health and natural ingredients that you recognize and trust.
  • It has excellent palatability, low carbohydrates, and moderate fat levels so it provides your cat with optimized nutrition.
  • Suited for cats that have gastritis and enteritis, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, and other diseases of the intestinal tract.
  • Made in the USA!

How do I order Veterinary Diets?

  1. Search our website for the diet your vet recommends, then add it to your cart. You can purchase your Veterinary Diets with any other goodies you need!
  2. At checkout, you’ll be asked for required information. Enter your pet’s name and your vet’s name & telephone number.
  3. Place your order, and we’ll take care of the rest!

How will you contact my vet?

Our Veterinary Diets team will personally contact your vet for approval. If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we’ll let you know immediately.

Does it help if I send you my veterinarian’s authorization?

Yes! If you have a paper copy of your vet’s authorization, email a picture to vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat, or fax it to 1-800-619-7973.

Can I use a veterinarian’s authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state?

Of course! We can accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States and Canada—that includes US territories, like Puerto Rico.

Why do I need a veterinarian’s authorization?

Veterinary Diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. If you don’t have a paper authorization, no sweat—once you provide your vet’s information, our team will take over.

Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?

Yes, but we’ll need them to provide us with the full name of the pet’s owner’s name via phone, email or chat after the order is placed, so the clinic can locate your pet’s records when we contact them.

How can I help expedite my order?

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Create your pet’s profile on Chewy.com.
  2. If you have an Autoship scheduled, but you’re running low on your Veterinary Diets, contact us ahead of time to let us know if you have a new clinic or if any authorization information has changed.
  3. If you have an authorization handy, send it to us before you order—by sending an email to vetdiet@chewy.com, starting a chat with one of our experts, or faxing us at 1-800-619-7973.

Do I need to set up a pet profile?

We recommend it, but it’s not required. You can create your pet’s profile by logging in at Chewy.com, hovering over your account, and choosing “pet profile.”

Do authorizations expire?

Yes. Your vet will tell us when your authorization will expire and how many times we can send before they’d like you to check back in with them.

Can I set up automatic refills?

Yep! Sign up for Autoship and we’ll automatically ship your Veterinary Diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills, or your authorization expires, we’ll automatically contact your vet for a new authorization. If we hit any bumps in the road, we’ll let you know right away.

    Won't buy again

I tried this food because after the first day she would no longer eat the original EN and when I saw this had some fish I thought maybe the smell would interest my fur baby. It has been a struggle to get her to eat this food and I wish the cans were not so big because once they have been opened there is no way she wants the leftovers so most of a can ends up in the trash. I did finally get her to eat the dry version instead of the canned, but it really did not help her diarrhea at all. So expensive and bothersome for a product that did not help.

It was kinda okay for a while.

My calico is approximately 9 yrs. old. She's living with IBD and pancreatitis. This is the latest of the Rx foods we've asked her to eat. In order to keep her poo at least looking as solid as toothpaste, I've been adding an OTC fiber supplement to whatever I feed her for years. The reason I'm giving this food such a low rating is because we're probably on the third case of the EN Natural, started on the regular EN, and she's done. She waits across the room for her morning bowl, walks over, licks the top off then leaves the rest. From seeing her do this with other Rx foods, I knew the end was near. Sure enough, each day, she has eaten less of it. So, we're in the middle of another change. We My calico is approximately 9 yrs. old. She's living with IBD and pancreatitis. Seeing Bailey excited about her food and so pushy I had to remove her from the counter so I could finish putting her food in the bowl! Even if she has to eat part EN with Koha on top and the OTC fiber powder on top of that (like she is while in transition) She's much happier and so far, so her poops are good. We are taking it slow. … more

    My kitty LOVED.... at first

    By on

I got a case of this... and at first my kitty LOVED it... but by 1/3 into the case she decided. Ok, no more. Period. I'm 2/3 into the case now, and I'm having to order something else. She's going on 2 day hunger strikes and will then break down and eat it for one meal, then goes back to her 2 day protests. And she's not silently suffering... she's yelling and BARKING at me all day and night too... every hour or so she tells me just how hungry she is, and shows me the skeleton she's becoming at an alarming rate!!!!! And, frankly, I'm not REALLY impressed with how well this 'works'. My cat is 12 years old, and has had explosive GASY diarrhea her entire life. My new vet suggested this, and after I got a case of this... and at first my kitty LOVED it... but by 1/3 into the case she decided. Ok, no more. Period. My new vet suggested this, and after 2 months her poop SOMETIMES gets to a normalISH consistency... Which is better than anything before, so I'm semi happy! But it's not consistent, and more importantly, my cat won't eat it long enough. So, it's good, but not great, and I'm trying something else now.. wish me luck, as, MY CAT IS FINICKY!!!!!!!! So, it very well could JUST be her with this food!! … more

    Really likes this formula

    By on

My cat has been on a gastro diet for awhile. I found this Naturals formulation, and decided to try it. It's a bit drier than the regular Pro Plan EN formula, but he really likes the flavor. I'll be buying more of both formulas.

    Veterinary Diet

my kitty likes it. Would like it better if it came minced or in larger chunks. He is throwing up less, since I started feeding him this.

More palatable... at least the cat thinks so

Expensive food, but EN Naturals is the only commercial Rx/veterinary food my sick cat will touch. Hopefully she will continue to do well with this switch, along with some home cooking ...

My cays love the flavor, no more throw up

    By on

EN had been critical for my kittens. I have two that have delicate stomachs and this has helped one stop throwing up and the other stabilize his stomach so he Durant have loose bowels. I have less clean up and happy kittens! Life is better.
