Questions & Answers

16 Customer Questions

Is this safe to feed all cats, even without digestive issues?
Answer by ChewyDec 05, 2017
This recipe's use is recommended only as directed by your veterinarian.

Is there any chicken in this new formula? It says turkey as the main ingredient but wondering if chicken would be in the meat by products
Answer by ChewyAug 31, 2021
Meat by-products are composed of nutrient-dense organ meats. They are rich in protein and amino acids to help strengthen and maintain your pet’s muscles. Also, because of their nutrient-rich composition, they are typically the first thing an animal would eat in the wild. Meat by-products do not include animal parts such as feathers, horns, beaks, teeth or hooves.

Not sure about product but rating company

Our cat passed away the day my shipment arrived. We’ve been very upset and took us a week to call to ask if we could return the cases of food that arrived that day. The representative was very kind and gracious and said we could donate it all to a shelter or to someone who could use it and our purchase was fully refunded. Great company!

Finally ended gastro issues!

Amber was reluctant at first to eat this food however when she realized it was what stopped the constant vomiting and diarrhea she has acquiesced.

Purina EN Can food turkey flavor

This is a good food for cats, I know from experience, however my cat has a vomiting issue with this can food. I warm it up and he won't eat it anymore... keep throwing it away...to expensive for that. I have 18 cans left. Keeping him on dry Purina EN only and he doesn't vomit on that.

Not a winner for us

Our 15 year old cat was "diagnosed" with suspected IBD. After his urgent care and ultrasound appointment, I was having a hard time finding anything he was willing to eat. He liked the chunky chicken and salmon flavors in the EN, but this one was not a winner. He didn't like it and neither did our other cats.

My cat likes it

My super picky IBD senior cat refused several different gastro foods from my vet. I found this one here and the only one with turkey in pate form. He is transitioning well to it. Not crazy about the rice in it but I keep mashing it up and it is working well for us.

It Really Helps

Our cat has had very stinky poops his whole life (3 years) this was recommended by our dr and the very night after he ate it, normal poop! And also pooping in the litter box correctly. Its really helped him and us!

Ingredients Change Unacceptable to Sick Cat

My cat with GI disease has been eating poorly and having trouble stool. Previously would this food willing. Today realized this when opening case of food. Checked ingredients on Chewy & discovered new recipe VERY different from the old one. Much less meat, more filler, artificial flavors. Why? Liver, chicken hearts, turkey in short supply? I thought she was ill but just refusing unpalatable food. Dismayed what feed her now and that Purina would dractiscally alter a food needed by sick cats that already hard to get eat!

Best of The Gastric Prescription Diets

Our cat was put on this food due to a flare up of pancreatitis. We had tried hills first which gave him an extremely upset stomach and he wouldn't touch the royal canin line. He ate this food enthusiastically with no issues.

Great Product

My pomeranian is a picky eater, sniffing her previous dehydrated food which has to be mixed with water. Most of the time she will only eat a portion of the meal and other times not eat it at all. My vet suggested trying Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Cat Food. She loves it and bounces on two hind legs when I bring her the meal.
