My 20 year old cat with kidney disease almost died last night. He was refusing to eat his wet or dry KD food or drink much. I started giving him some of these treats by hand. He woke up MUCH better!
She doesn't come running for them but at least she'll eat them. She needs the pH balance to keep from forming urinary stones so at least it's something to give when treating the other cats.
Every cat is different, so take this review with that grain of salt. That being said, my boys are on the prescription food in this diet line so I was excited to see treats as well. I've tried giving them both these treats, but one only smells it and walks away while the other tries it and spits it out. The offered treats stay on my floor, ignored, until I throw them away. Waste of money.
First got these treats at the vet....my boy went wild for them! He doesn't need urinary health treats, but he loves them and I know they're good for him. He tries to steal the bag when you're not looking.
Only one of my six needs a special urinary diet, but everyone gets these treats so nobody is left out. I'm very happy with these because even our picky cats will eat and enjoy these. I should also note that shortly after my little boy's bladder surgery he had little appetite and returned home without eating solid food at the hospital. Of course he wouldn't touch his standard food. This was the first thing I was able to get him to eat!
My elderly cat actually loves these. She hates most things but these are a hit. I haven't seen a difference with peeing yet because we just started but I'm going to buy some more! Finally. Something she likes!!!!
My senior cat has been on prescription urinary food most of his life so I was happy to finally find a urinary treat option for him. He really enjoys them and has been eating the matching Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Urinary food for 2 years now. I highly recommend this brand. I used to feed him the Royal Canin urinary diet until they changed their formula a few years ago and it upset his stomach.
My five year-old male cat requires a prescription diet now to keep crystals down in urine. Vet carries Hill’s brand but of course he wasn’t impressed with flavor. They recommended this and $100 later (purchased wet food as well), I find out he tolerates this one even less. Wishing rx diets came in a trial size. I’m sure it’s high quality but my dumpster diving little jerk prefers ditch water and frogs.
My cat is getting older, trying to get her some better treats to protect her kidney, found this urinary health treats. I thought usually this kind of " healthy treats" my cat won't want it, she is super picky. I was wrong. She loves it.
So glad that Chewy is selling these treats. My baby has to stay on a urinary tract diet because of her health so now she can have an occasional treat as well.
