Why should I buy veterinary diets from Chewy?
We offer competitive prices and free shipping on orders over $49. Plus, you'll save more if you sign up for automatic refills with Autoship at Checkout. Chewy experts are available 24/7 to answer any questions you have.
How do I order veterinary diets?
- Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

Significant increase in treat size in latest batch
By Lauz on Dec 2, 2020
I’ve been buying these for several months and my cat loves them. However, for the last batch I bought the treats were significantly larger that before. I did some back of the envelope calculations based on their weights and came to 3.5 kcals per treat. If you were to give your cat 17 of these you would be feeding them 60 calories of treats. The bag says 1.5 calories per treat and I believe that was the case when they were smaller, but I just can’t see how that can still be the case since they’ve doubled in size. I have emailed the manufacturer for clarity.

perfect for the furbo
By Cash on Jan 18, 2021
Cash loves these treats but they are also perfect size and shape for the furbo camera we have that dispenses treats. Most square treats either get stuck, or spit out too many due to the shape these are perfect and not full of junk

Are these cat treats
By GrannyJo on Dec 6, 2020
My cat loves Crunchy Bites, HOWEVER, when I ordered thru Chewy they were the size of dog treats in the bag. Checked all bags (I ordered 4) and they were the same!! I use to get them thru my Vet, but they no longer carry them. I have to use a hammer and chisel to break them down to size, otherwise my cat would choke on them. Too hard to chew something that large and if swallowed whole he will choke!

All-time favorite!
By Acejvs on Dec 16, 2020
I have five cats. There. I said it. And they went FLIPPING NUTS for these treats! There was some growling and snort-like chuffs (by my cats, not me) as they each protected their stash. Bonus: the package states the treats help clean teeth. Con: on the pricey side if my cats are going to treat these like crack.

Dental treats that are actually big!
By MacNik6 on Dec 6, 2020
I have a cat with dental issues that eats all her food without chewing, since her teeth are so sensitive. I was looking for a treat that would force her to chew them, as she just swallows most treats. These are the only treats I’ve found so far that are big enough she HAS to chew them! And she likes the flavor, too!

Crunchy Treats
By RagdollLady on Nov 13, 2020
I recently had to put one of my cats on a diet. Because of the way he was brought up he is always hungry, afraid he will miss a meal. I tried the treats, he loves them. Whenever I go into the kitchen area he get very excited because he thinks he is going to get a treat. He doesn’t. I hardly recommend this product, in fact I will be ordering more shortly. I would give this product ten stars if I could but to say Cat Approved, says it all.

Treats that are good for their teeth
By DCFelines on Jan 24, 2021
Our boys are finicky eaters. But they enjoy these chicken treats. I typical reward the boys with a few of these treats after I brunch their teeth.

Good treat
By Kingfish on Feb 5, 2021
This is new to us. My kitty enjoys them each night as a treat. I like that they are low calorie and that she has to chew them.

cat is obessed
By spoilthecat on Dec 10, 2020
I store these in the closet and any time I open the door my cat teleports to my side hoping I pull these out. He LOVES these. I put them in a treat dispenser for him to "hunt" out. These are definitely going on my autoship list.

Both cats go crazy over these
By HPapovich on Sep 22, 2020
My two girls are picky when it come to treats,. They love the crunchy type treats, and eventually they get tired of eating the same type of treats all the time, so I decided to give these a try. They loved them. They pretty much try to knock the treats out of my hand before I can even give these to them. They recommend 17 treats to cats weighing over 5 lbs, however, I don't give the full 17 per day and just give them only a few. If I did 17 treats per cat, each bag wouldn't last long. I also wish that these would come in different sized bags. So these will be added to their stock of cat treats that they love and used in their rotation of available treats, but would be purchased occasionally My two girls are picky when it come to treats,.
