Should be RECALLED

So many things are wrong with this “new size, same product” slogan... I’ve depended on this product for years, since my cats don’t drink enough water -- this is not the “same product”. Different size is bad enough, but it looks and smells different, it’s now made in Thailand, not France (not shown on the pictures provided by Chewy), and the ingredients are in a different order. Look closely and you will see that whey protein (the healthiest ingredient) is now listed fourth instead of third. I probably wouldn’t have cared, or even noticed, but the cats REFUSED to even try it, even when garnished with some of their favorite toppers. I thought they might be having a finicky day. Since I still had a few boxes of the old (original) formula, I offered that. They happily consumed every bit, as usual. I am actually glad they ignored this new version, after seeing all the horrible results. In my humble opinion, this product should be RECALLED, or at least removed from the shelves. I so appreciate Chewy’s customer service in dealing with my dilemma. Their generous, free return policy and attention to my concerns, made the process smooth and painless. Gotta be honest, I am scouring my local pet stores for as many of the old product as possible.

Please review the customer service reviews. I’m sure this is not the first review that reports damaged items due to overloading packaging. I realize you want to save cost per items shipped by combining into one package however you compromised the safety of customers who have to pick the package up to bring it into house. It took two people to bring one pacjage into house. It’s a start / quality issue. I can only imagine how many people work around this safety issue by opening box outside on porch and hand delivering each item themselves into the house to prevent injury. Please take my advice. Font compromise customer safety while trying to save shipping costs. Thank you.

This is my 3rd Siamese and I am determined to avoid 7 yr onset of CKD/kidney failure. Vet suggested this a few years ago when kidney function was slightly off. Recent test shows all is well! He's now 10 so we are grateful and he loves it. We call it "gravy" and he knows the word. Comes running and is cranky if we forget. We serve in a soy sauce dish like from Japanese food and warm very slightly to serve. It smells like Thanksgiving! ( to us ) My sister's cat won't touch it, but I guess mine is a gourmand.

Ever since the formula changed (we got the new box a couple weeks ago) they started to get sick (vomiting a lot) and disinterested in their food. Not a coincidence for it to happen to both of my cats after having the packet a few times. Very unfortunate as we will have to explore other options for hydration.

I'm a little concerned this is making my cat itch really bad. Calico showed up a year ago on Sept. I have went through so many things with her. When I took her to the emergency vet they recommended hydra care and critical care. She was still feeling bad and it turns out she had a uti. After the uti healed she had to have 2 sets of steriods shots for extreme itching. I was thinking it might be the uti shots, etc that caused her problems. I bought this just recently because it is winter and thought she could use the extra hydration, but she started itching really bad again. So a little concerned it might be this.

Cat stopped drinking it after packaging change

My cat has been drinking a serving daily for the last couple years. My last shipment received was in the new packaging, and right away I started having problems getting her to drink it. I contacted the Purina Company and asked along with their packaging change, if they made changes to the formulation, and this was their reply Thank you for contacting Nestle Purina PetCare Company. So, there were no new ingredients added with the recent change, but some of the ingredients were rearranged. We also moved production from the co-packer in France to a Nestle-owner facility in Thailand. With the move, the suppliers of the ingredients also changed. While liver flavor is still the primary taste, it's a different supplier of the liver so it could taste different than the French-supplied liver. We do apologize that your cat is not wanting to consume any of he newer product. We do offer a 90day money back guarantee if you would like your money back for your purchase. We do ask that you reach out to the original place of purchase. If they will not help with a refund, you can send us a copy of your receipt I contacted Chewy, and they sent me a prepaid return label to send back the 3 unopened boxes for a refund.

I am very upset that they "updated" the Hyrdacare for Cats. I could tell as soon as I saw the box by the new style of opening it, as well as the fact that the amount in the pouches has changed from 3 ounces in previous auto-ship orders to "2.65" ounces. This is not what I have had auto-shipped for months so that I can give my cat, who is in renal failure, her medication. My elderly cat relies on this to take her medication without stress, however she won't touch it after the first new 2.6oz pouch I tried to give her medication in. Why change it? Why am I paying just as much for less quantity of a product that my cat now dislikes and we have to struggle to get her to take her medicine?

We have a cat dealing with kidney failure. He’s on fluids every day and we try to add as much water to his diet as possible. The hydra care helps. It’s a nutritious liquid in a packet and we add about 2 tablespoons of warm water and mix it all together. Lefty happily lapse it up once a day in between meals.
