Regalo Easy Step Walk-Through Gate, 30-in

Does what it's supposed to do by preventing my dog from going into the kitchen. All the parts are labelled appropriately so assembly was simple, quick, and easy. It's held up well even though I didn't screw it into the wall. I did have to get used to closing the latch since it's not auto-close. Overall, I think this was a great investment. Nowadays, my dog likes to sit next to the gate and watch me cook.

We originally bought the Frisco gate but realized it was just an inch off our kitchen doorway dimensions and the ends allowed for a gap for our little 8 week puppy to squeeze his whole body through either end. We got this replacement Regalo and the way the end bars on each side flare out prevents him from wiggling through (only his head fits haha). The downside of this gate compared to the Frisco is that the closure mechanism requires more intentionality as you must lift and then latch with a slide mechanism, whereas the Frisco auto-latches with momentum and is a bit more secure in daily goings and comings. The gate in theory works well, however the space I and trying to cover with it is just too small for the extra gate extender. And the rubber feet on the sides that extend out for the pressure mount lose stability when they are at full extent soon. My dog is consistently able to push the bottom piece out of place and get through the gate.

Read the previous review from March 29 as well, titled “Don’t Know Yet”... I have the same problem. The adjustment spindle bolts are too narrow and don’t thread into the gate (they just slide in and out so there’s no way to tighten it in the doorway). The walkthrough gate panel doesn’t align with the opposite panel either, so it doesn’t close... it’s warped. It’s only two screws and 4 wall spindles - it’s not rocket science. It is assembled correctly, it’s just poorly made and completely useless. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME UNLESS THEY GET THESE MANUFACTURING FLAWS SORTED OUT!!

I bought this to keep pets out of my bedroom. It’s so unstable! It took me a solid two hours to put together. I bought it because it said it mounts without screws... it doesn’t. Without screwing it into the wall, it is totally useless... it won’t stay up and won’t close. I’m so bummed.

Easy set up. Maybe a half hour. The cups screw right to the door jam. Having a new one yr old Jack pup I had to have it. I got dog eating cat food and cats eating dog food. The Jack was even jumping onto my pup table. Getting into the cat box. I love the door makes it easy. what took the longest was measuring my bottom rail up 3 inches from the floor because of the dog, he can jump. Love the door part. I had a child proof gate and he was jumping that like crazy and climbing it. I didn't even need the extended part that came once I properly screwed the steel parts into the door jam to adjust it. It was easier than the instructions look like. Been 2 weeks the cats can jump it and the Jack Russel Easy set up. Maybe a half hour. The cups screw right to the door jam. Chewie is amazing and never disappoints! The gate is durable and easy to assemble. My puppy fits through it now, but he's growing fast and soon won't. He likes it because he can still see me through it. Definitely recommend.

For those who have seen images and comments about gates not closing properly or the bolts sliding in and out, don't worry about those comments. When I received the gate, I was nervous too because I noticed that same gap. Well...attached to the gap is a large yellow paper that says, " This is a pressure-mounted gate. When set in, the door frame gate will appear bent. After proper installation, the gate will flex and the gap will disappear." I followed the instructions and simply spun the bolts/disc onto the wall until it was to my liking. The moreI spun, the tighter in place the gate was and the smaller the gap became. I am house training a pup and was using an old baby gate my pooch could climb over. I didn’t want to put screws in the wall. This can be set up with tension and I did it myself without my husband and surprised him when he got home. It’s very nice to have a gate at the foot of the stairs as we are getting too old to keep climbing over the baby gate. My pup did get over it once because the couch was close by. I rearranged furniture and she has not been able to jump it again. It is sturdy and our adult dogs have not dislodged it. Well worth the money I spent on it and I give it an excellent rating!

It's nice looking and we'll made, I think. Except. I haven't completed assembly yet. There are 4 long screws with stoppers on their ends that go into the sides of the gate. But they don't screw in. They slide in and out like they are too narrow for the hole they go into. I haven't gotten it to the point where, per instructions, the gate itself straightens. This one is still crooked. A friend was going to help me with it but we didn't get to it. So, it is not yet installed. Frustrating.
