What "Flavor" is this? My 2 Maine Coon's have recently gotten picky about eating Science Diet Hairball Control and try to steal my 11 year old's Selected Protein Rabbit & Pea that she eats for food allergy. Want to ensure kitties will like this!
Answer by ChewyOct 21, 2018
This food is chicken flavored.

kibble size

While Royal Canin does not have the exact measurements, the size of the kibble of their Hairball Care Dry Cat Food is smaller than an M&M.

This REALLY works!

I've tried so many different brands claiming the end or reduction of hairballs and nothing has made a difference. Pixie is part Maine Coon, and long hair mix. Long, fine hair + constant grooming = loads of hairballs (which are HUGE, more like big fat cigars) all year round. They almost look like poop! All over! I figured we'd try this brand/formula as a last hurrah; and I'm stunned! Switched about 4/5 months ago, and the difference was IMMEDIATE! She went from multiple times a day to a few a week, then to a couple or so a month, to now, which is 0! For about the last 2 months! Grooming habits haven't changed, just no more disgusting surprises between my toes!! Added bonus, she LOVES the taste. I was originally going to mix it 50-50 with her other food, and she picked through and only ate this! Yes, it's more expensive, but I'm not picking up a minefield every day!

Favorite food with extra benefits

I have 5 cats in our household. They all know where to go to get their favorite food. All of them shed, several pretty extensively. With the hairball prevention additives this food can help minimize the hairball vomiting.

Great food for my Siberian cat

This food has helped my cat have little to no hair balls. She also loves to eat it. I definitely would recommend this food if you have a long haired cat that struggles with hair balls.

My finicky cat loves it!

My cat is extremely finicky and would probably starve rather than eat something not to his liking. He’s part Maine Coon Cat and has a long, thick coat. We battle hairballs despite frequent brushing. He loves this dry food, which supplements his canned food diet, and vomiting due to hairballs has been greatly reduced. The two of us are very pleased.

Sidney, the cat for whom this was purchased had frequent vomiting of hairballs and this has virtually eliminated all of that...yes, now and then she might have one but, in general, this takes care of that. While i do offer other foods mixed with this (at times), she seems to prefer this food...her brothers and sisters also have it as part of their food and all seem to like it.

Hairball control for a finicky cat

When we first got our cat, almost every day she would gag. She also happens to be a very picky eater. We tried about 4 or 5 different types of hard food, and this was the only one that she would eat (and she does so eagerly) and that seemed to keep the gagging in check. She gets canned food at night, but this hard food for breakfast is by far her favorite!
