Is this food good for senior cats and for putting on weight?

This recipe is formulated for the specific needs of growing baby kittens (1-4 months) and queen cats (pregnant or nursing).

Is the texture of this hard or soft? Is it small enough to be swallowed whole by older cats with dental problems?

This kibble is hard however, it may be moistened with water if needed. It is also very small so kittens or older cats who need the extra nutrition should be able to eat it more easily.

Is this food supposed to be greasy?

Mama Cat and her 3 kittens love this! They even prefer it over the Iams that I have left over from when Mama Cat was pregnant. Little do they know that when they are old enough, they are going back to Iams because they don't need Royal Canin anymore and it is less expensive. Iams and Royal Canin is owned by Mars, Inc. and Royal is more of a specialty brand.

We are fostering a nursing mother cat with 4 very young kittens. She wasn’t eating much of her dry food so we switched her to royal canin, and she is absolutely loving it. We have to refill her bowl almost daily. We also have her on royal canin mother and babycat wet food which is a hit also. It gets spendy, but she deserves it!

So soft, so shiny!

Honestly amazed at what this food appears to be doing for our little man. I found him in a ditch. He was malnourished, dirty, and his coat was awful. Within 2 months

Honestly amazed at what this food appears to be doing for our little man. I found him in a ditch. He was malnourished, dirty, and his coat was awful. Within 2 months of using Royal Canin exclusively he tripled in size and his coat is glossy black. He looks like a show cat!

This brand has everything we needed for our 4-week old kittens that were needing extra calories beyond bottle feedings, and much smaller pieces of kibble than other brands provided. Other brands of kitten food were too large and the babies were choking on it, even when it was pre-moistened. A few minutes soaked in water, and our babies had a perfect meal ready to be served. Now they’re getting older and stronger, and easily tolerating the kibble semi-moistened. I’m so glad we found this!
