Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Infection

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Support digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

i really hate the fact that there are very limited options for dogs that need this formula for chronic severe gastritis. i have watched the cost of this go from 62 a case to 170 with many shortages and not being able to get it leading to having to buy stock up volumes which is a huge cost at once. consumers are trapped. if this constantly sells out then royale canine knows they can make more to avoid the shortages as there is a steady market. i feel its deliberate to drive up prices. i have tried with some success other options but end up here every time when my pet inevitably is hospitalized for another event. duck is ok, but i have best success with rabbit.

My Pomeranian has been suffering with skin allergies the last few months. I’ve changed his diet several times with no improvement. Our vet decided to prescribe this food and he’s been on it almost 2 weeks. So far, he seems to be improving which had not happened before with the other diets. In fact he kept getting worse. I’m hopeful this food will be the one! He loves it and no digestive issues either.

Loved that it didn’t stink

My dachshund has to have prescription diet food because of his IBD. They are currently out of the rabbit so this is his second choice. He loves it. Hope it continues
