Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Infection

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Support digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Autoship

Keep your pet's feeding on schedule.  Set your order for Autoship to make sure you always have their veterinarian-recommended nutrition on hand.

When will the Royal Canin canned dog food for sensitive be back in stock? I have 4 cans of it -- the Vet has none and its a 4 day holiday. After that, I am totally out and the Vet has none -- when will it be back in stock?

Answer by YorkieParentMar 03, 2022
Hi there. Try ordering the dry formulation of the same food. I have been rehydrating the dry food by blending it with warm water and then refrigerating it. This seems to be doing the trick until I can order the wet food again. Hope this helps.

How to order this wet food? I have prescription for my dog.

Answer by ChewyOct 10, 2018
You'll be prompted for vet information at checkout. Once the order is placed, we'll reach out by fax and phone to the clinic. To get it even faster, send an email with the prescription to vetdiet@chewy.com or fax it to 1-800-619-7973.

Mikey has a horrible allergy to chicken and beef. After trying hydrolyzed he was not eating much of anything. I had to put meds in his food and he must have thought meds were in everything. However, with the Royal Canin PR Rabbit, he loves it and doesn't mind the meds. Yeah!! Mikey is showing improvement thanks to the Royal Canin PR. Mikey likes it and he hates everything.

Product is nice and moist, not like a glob of solid food.

My pup loves it so much I am able to use it to give meds - she gobbles it down without finding the pills.

This is a simple diet rabbit meat and potato which you can easily make yourself or buy in a specialty pet store under another name for WAY less than $146/case AND its availability is horrendous. They actually canceled my auto shop because they could not get it in. Better off going to brick and mortar than counting on Chewy for this food. You can make this or buy it at 1/2 the price. Don’t be fooled!!

Royal Canin PR is the ONLY food my special needs (extreme food allergies) dog can eat. I can only give him meds using the canned food. I was distraught when the cans were out of stock and I feared discontinued. Fortunately I got a Chewy restock notification and was able to double order. I worry what will happen if/when RC ever discontinues RC-PR. I need to start finding a backup option but also don’t want to destablize my dog’s fragile system when we know what works.
